I can stay 21 days in the Philippines without a visa. Is that counting the weekend too.

Yes, You can stay for 21 days including the weekends. I was there with my finacee the later part of Oct 09 to Nov 09 for total of 21 days including the weekends. I flew back stateside at 10:30pm on the 21 st day

In a related vein, I've also booked a trip where I fly out on the 21st day of stay. I was wondering the time involved and steps necessary to get the required "permit" for over-stay. I can just imagine a typhoon delaying my flight by a day and they don't let me out of the country because I'm now on day 22.

It's very simple and inexpensive to get an extension if you stay longer. Just make sure you DO get an extension or you will pay penalties when departing the country and it will be more expensive.

Both trips I went to see Mhay i stayed over 21 days. I just went to the bureau of immigration in manila and within an hour I had a 59 day visa. Cost is 3030 to do it there. You can have a travel agency do it for a fee if you will not be in manila.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

That is 3,030 Php ?? Correct? I know the PH Government is money hungry these days..but $3,030 US for a Visa extension.... :o

It is really easy to get an extension on your visa. I can't remember how much I paid but it was for an additional 59 days and I had to give them two passport photos.

Yeh, I paid the P3030 too. Very easy and took less than an hour. It would have taken even less time but the officer and I had to BS for a while..his sister is in the States..lol In case you weren't clear on weekends/no weekends, etc., it's calendar days. You can stay 21 calendar days or less with no visa.
