I'm just curious - why is this Islamabad thread in Off-Topic and not in Regional Discussions?

its placed here because, we had talked to Ewok about placing it here because its easier

here VS reginal dicussions. BTW, there is one there. but NO one Uses it..

halwa is the sweet stuff, poori is the bread, and then you have some potatoe stuff lol

ah i cant explain it.

what a sexist comment! lol Just kidding...ummm we make fried dough covered with sugar. We call it elephant ears in Afghanistan. Eid is known for lots of sweets!

actually i love it when men help out in the house(cooking etc) and are nice to their wives. i really dislike men who are mean to their wives. how can you be mean to her and sleep with her at night. that makes me sick.

 you are so very right..

same as women. there are ladies that are pure byches to their husbands!

Well it is after EID now and the embassy is back at work. Hope to hear of some off AR/AP, some interviews and reunions. Good luck to all.

Danika and Ali any news on your case?

Michigan you too? and the others that are still waiting?

Mary

No news for us yet. We do know that an investigation has been initiated in his home village, but the Embassy says they haven't recieved the package from the NVC yet. hmmm? Seems unlikely, but we're trying to be patient. Will call again in a day or so and check again. No packet 3 in the mail yet either.

My family update for those interested...

My grandmother got to come home on Friday. She is doing quite well recovering from her stroke. She has a long way to go yet, but is making great strides. Life has new challenges now. Her brother passed away sadly, but we had a very nice memorial for him. Life is taking on new shapes every day. sigh.

Happy Halloween too! Just came back from "trick 'o treating" with friends to friends houses. I dressed as "Pippi Longstockings going hunting" - it was what I could come up with in 30 minutes from the closet. Pretty fun and funny. The local high school kids were out causing ruckuss around town. Our small local market had a hilarious sign over the egg section - "absolutely no eggs sold to minors today". I love small towns! Except everyone was heading to bed by 9pm, what kind of halloween ghouls are they?!

Hope everyone is well and hears good news soon!

Hey that is good news means that they have some information or they would not be doing the field investigation now. LOL They do not want to tell you the details and the embassy was closed for EID so it will be a few days for them to be back on track.

Ali aka Michigan has his K 3 visa in hand.:dance::dance: So we know they are working again. Take care and keep us posted.
