robert a little OT but I tried Thai food on monday for the first time in my life... it was really good but I was burping fire LOL

Get it mild next time. Have you tried sa tay yet?

No I havent... just got an appetizer plate to split between me and my friend.. fried shrimp, thai egg rolls, fried wonton and fried tofu with some kind of sweet and sour sauce with nuts.. then got a shrimp and fried rice platter.. it was yummy.. but I noticed their hotness scale wasn't really a scale, they just put a chili pepper next to what is hot... they should've used a 1-4 or a 1-3 chili pepper rating lol

my friend got shrimp in a curry sauce with vegetables, and a mound of white rice on the side

I always wanted to try Thai food but Detroit area isn't really a good place to get it... not many places and I've heard the places that do have it aren't authentic or aren't very good... so I thought I'd swing by when I was in LA this weekend

Just so you know, it will be hard for you to find any really good Thai food without going to Thailand. Even here in Fl we have found some Thai restaurants, with Thai employees, but the food is cooked for "Westerners", and not in traditional Thai style. Can be dissapointing for those of us used to authentic Thai food.

Just so you know, it will be hard for you to find any really good Thai food without going to Thailand. that goes for most ethnic restaurants. the mexican food i restaurants is very much americanized. even a lot of the hole-in-the-waslls places. they get close, but it isn't the same.
