Alhamdulilah - my fiance got here with no problems, very easy POE - asked some very basic questions like where are you going to live, what are you going to do, where does your fiance live and that was about it... I waited outside of customs for almost an hour though b/c they lost his luggage!! Got it three days later thankfully...

quick question - were they supposed to keep the brown envelope at immigration?

Omid that is great news that he is here and just the late luggage. We had the same ordeal with the luggage as well. And as the others said they keep the brown envelope all he should of kept if he brought it was the chest xray. Take care and keep us posted on your wedding plans.

I sent one package by USPS and it took 6 weeks to get to Pakistan and they could not even track it after they assured me it could be for the 36.00.

I used Fedex for all documents after this and they arrived within one week depending on what day I shipped and you can track it from the web. My letter packets were more expensive but peace of mind was worth it.

Cost for Fedex International Priority Letter 41.00 Letter weight. More documents on first package that had our K3 and CR1 copies with NOAs cost me close to 100.00 but it was heavier packet. Hope this information is helpful.

I often used Fedex & DHL both works for me. For incoming packages from Pakistan DHL works great around 12,000 Paki RS my family in Pakistan shipped around 20 Kgs of stuffed however from out going packages Fedex works great. Last time I paid $40 for 4 lbs of package. Right now I am trying to ship a container from Pakistan and it will cost me around 2K US $$

Thanks for the poem Imran. It is helping me immensely to practice my Urdu - and deal with my sadness right now that I can't be in touch with Ali. He usually sends me poems - that usually take me days to translate - and I often miss the meaning by then. I am going to have so much to send him when he's back in the land of phones and internet.

I think Fedex is the best since they have quality service.

It depends on how quick you want the documents to get there-i wanted mine to reach within 2-3 days so it cost me 67.

But trust me-at least you wont be worried that your documents got lost. There are a lot of services which may be cheaper, but its not worth it since the documents are so important.

You might have told him about it when he told you he is off on both the Sunday and Monday. What town is he in? and what would be "out of town" for him? what kidna work he does?
