I just received TODAY my wife's ASC appointment to have her Biometrics taken, and its on the 18th of this month. but I will be overseas for 2 weeks for Navy reserve assignment (March13th until March 26)

I will make a copy of the receipt and give them the original receipt with the box checked for Request for Rescheduling. Is there anything else i have to send besides a letter for rescheduling and the original copy of the Notice of action ASC appointment? Thanks

Why do you need to go? It's just biometrics. If she's in the country try and organise someone else to take her.. otherwise it'll slow it down.

If you have papers for the Navy thing that might help too because they're very good about accommodating military things.

I think the question was more why do you need to goto the biometrics? All they are doing is taking her fingerprints and photos. As long as she can get to the ASC, she doesn't need you with her and at some ASC's they won't even let you in with her. You can always try to do a walk in with some info on your training, to show you won't be there when her notice is, if she has no way to get there without you.

she doesn't have anyone to take her there but me. and i have to leave the country in a couple of days. and you guys still have not answered the question. the question is: besides the original recept, and a letter stating for a reschedule. what else do i need to send them?

Nothing else required, in fact we had to reschedule twice and all we sent in was the original receipt with the box checked to reschedule. We didn't send any letter.

Besides a brief explanation (I forget if there's a space for this on the bio-notice itself), I might include a copy of the NOA1 for the AOS and EAD (if you filed for it). It figures it would come right when you have to go do your 2-week weekend thing..

Any chance you could go earlier? (As in a walk-in? Most/many ASC's allow this as long as you have the actual appointment notice.)

Hey guys i was thinking of something. since on the receipt it says that she has to go for her ASC appointment on the 18th of March can she do it this week (weds, thurs, or friday) before i leave to Europe on Saturday? Would the USCIS office allow that? Thanks

Many ASC's allow this - what city are you in? (Perhaps someone can share their experience) :star:

Hmmm its almost as if Otto and Karen and I suggested trying that.

" You can always try to do a walk in with some info on your training, to show you won't be there when her notice is, if she has no way to get there without you."

Some offices will let you, some won't but if you bring something about going on the training to show you wont be around when the appointment is, it might go a lot smoother.

You should definitely try to walk in before your date. SOme offices allow it. My office, Omaha, did not allow it, but they told us we could come in AFTER our date and they would do it. It's worth trying, so that you don't have to delay the biometrics. Otherwise, you may have to wait another month or so.

Good luck and thanks for your service!

I took my wife today to do her ASC biometrics appointment and everything went out really good. Her appointment was originally on the 18th of March, and we went today to see if they could do it for her and they did. We told them that we came all the way from Augusta, Georgia to have this done. and the ASC office in Atlanta did it. And now i got to get things ready for my Navy annual training in Europe the next 2 weeks.

So what happens next once my wife has the biometrics (fingerprinting/photo) done? What is the next step? Thanks

Now you wait. Either they will schedule you for an interview or transfer your case to CSC. At some point her EAD and AP should come as well if you applied for them. Until you hear about an interview or transfer though (or, though I really hope not, a RFE) theres nothing else to do.
