AOS Approval

Hello Everyone!!

Wow a new look! I had posted and posted and they wouldn't appear and now I know why. It's a good new look but will take me time to get used to it. I wanted to let you know about our AOS interview on Thursday, January 26, in the Columbus, Ohio office.

Abdou and I arrived in the office at 2:25 for our 2:30 appointment (as you can't arrive earlier than 15 minutes) and we were called into her office at 2:35 and back in our car by 2:50. We were there less than 5 minutes. She swore us both in and asked for my driver's license and his passport. She then asked him a few questions from the form like.......have you ever been convicted of a felony, have you been a member of a terrorist group and such........about 8 of them. Then looked through our file on her desk and said that's it. I said that's it and she said yes. She then said we have everything we need. I said that's it again, can't believe it and she said ok, show me a bank statement with both your names and I did and she glanced at it and said that's it. My husband did ask her why we had to bring so much paperwork and such with us, as is listed on the letter, and she said that is a form letter. I know we shouldn't have said anything but it was such a shock for her to not want to see one thing we had with us. I had heard these appointments are easy but with the journey we have had I figured something would come up. She then told him he should receive his green card in 3 to 6 weeks and not to travel until he has it. She then said congratulations and said goodbye. Wow, this one was so easy. I wish everyone luck. We are through with this immigration stuff for a little bit.

So glad to hear that things went so very well for you and Abdou. I read he also got his first job on his first interview. Yeah to you both. Good luck on your recovery yet and glad to hear that things are going wonderfully.

sweet. I live in Columbus OH also, and we will be starting our AOS process soon. Looks like about 5 months to the interview for you. I hope we can do it that quickly. Would be nice for her to have her GC before we gfo back to Thailand at the end of the year.
