He's right, Danno and you know it. Abstinence Only programs for teens are what we are referring to - which says to teens, "just don't have sex." It doesn't say, don't have sex until you are responsible enough for it. If that is what you are in favor of, then we share common ground. Teach teens responsibility but telling them just don't have sex doesn't work as you are a living example of it.

Thats Rich, I simply said my name is not St. Danno and from that you are able to assess my sexual history... all the way back to middle school.

And no he is not right, in fact not even close.

Different family have different view points on when and under what situations sex should occur.

IF you want to give your 9th grader the green light, go right ahead, I and many others DON"T feel this is the schools role.

Teaching reproductive health and even about STDS can be taught without the "green Light" approach which so many courses use.

Spin the logic anyway you want steve, the bare facts are a good portion of young people... are after 40 years of sex education, incubators for STDs.

At what point will you finally give it up?

So some arbitrary story you've dug up equates to "sex education = failure"

 get out of town.

Yeah you're right hunt, it's no doubt a FOX News effort to mislead the American people still further.

The truth is after 45 years of SeX education, the goal of ending unwanted pregnancies and STD's has been met.

You need to stop thinking in absolutes.

That would require seeing things not just as black or white issue..... scary gray territory.

Tread lightly...

Beyond the goal of improving sex education, English language courses also need a great deal of improvement.

Danno, Danno, Danno, in what way did my definition of 'abstinence' appear incorrect to you? You need to stop getting your information from kidshealth.org because they are truly idiots... You can't be sexually active, then forgo sex with someone, or suffer a rejection one night, and call yourself practicing abstinence.

What Is It? Abstinence is not having sex. A person who decides to practice abstinence has decided not to have sex.

How Does It Work? If two people don't have sex, then sperm can't fertilize an egg and there's no possibility of a pregnancy. Some forms of birth control depend on barriers that prevent the sperm from reaching the egg (such as condoms or diaphragms). Others interfere with the menstrual cycle (as birth control pills do). With abstinence, no barriers or pills are necessary because the person is not having sex.

You don't have to be a virgin to practice abstinence. Sometimes people who have been having sex decide not to continue having sex. Even if a person has been having sex, he or she can still choose abstinence to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the future.

How Well Does It Work? Abstinence is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Although many birth control methods can have high rates of success if used properly, they can fail occasionally. Practicing abstinence ensures that a girl won't become pregnant because there's no opportunity for sperm to fertilize an egg.
