Hi everyone,

I have received my Biometrics letter in the mail yesterday (March 8th) and today, I checked my case status online and it's written as RFE for I-485 on March 9th. I have sent in everything, including I-693 (signed by CS) and DS-3025, all the documents for I-864, and basically everything that is needed.

I really don't know what I didn't put in :( Has anyone been through this? Has anyone gotten anything like this before??

Thank you.

Sincerely,

LC

Hey, LC. Sorry about your RFE, girl.

Maybe it's to do with relationship evidence, who knows. When you get your RFE in the post, I hope you'll let us know what it is, and most important, I hope you'll be able to get it resolved asap with no problem! (F)

Hey John & Camie,

Yeah it really sucks! I thought that after getting the biometrics letter, I won't be getting an RFE... I guess not :( Well, I didn't put in any relationship evidence since I filed from a K-1.... well, except for our marriage cert of course... I really don't know what went wrong but I will definitely keep everyone up to date here.

Thank you.

Aww, I hope it all works out. I check our case every day for RFEs - even with Biometrics scheduled for next week I'm still on edge!

Yeah unfortunately until you get your interview or your transferred case shows approved you aren't necessarily free from getting RFE's, and they can be for just about anything. Could be one of these medical RFE's people have been getting. It shouldn't be for relationship evidence as you don't need to send that in during this stage, it would be something they ask for if you should get an interview. I still look at mine almost every day because I'm terrified I'm going to get an RFE. I didn't do the I-693, just sent in the vaccination suppliment given to me in Canada, so I'm worried I will end up with an RFE, though I know its an easy one to fix if I do.

What relationship evidence? With the initial filing no relationship evidence is needed... other than the marriage certificate of course

Hi,

Even though I am not sure about the AOS, but an RFE could simply mean something else. During the citizenship, they send a letter and the online status changes to RFE, but if my memory serves me correctly, it is for the biometrics. Keep an eye on the mail, but just go take your biometrics and if you don't receive any RFE letter or your status doesn't change, I would call them and ask about that.

One more thing, an RFE, in any stage may arrive at any moment. Biometrics letter is just a formality and everyone receives it before USCIS officers even look at your file besides its completion.

Hope it is a false alarm.

Even if you do things correctly, you can get an RFE like we did. It's frustrating because there's just no surefire way (except to redo the whole bleeping medical!) to avoid it.

Anyway, when the RFE comes in the mail, be sure to post it here even if you know what to do so that others can know what your experience was. Please don't be afraid of them, they are annoyances, but not a big HUGE deal. Despite how much I rant about RFEs, there are lots of people on VJ who have successfully moved past an RFE, and we can help you too.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the replies. I still am not sure what the RFE is about. I'm waiting for a mail to come from the USCIS... I'll definitely let everyone know!

Thanks again :)

RFE=request for further evidence. That's not a biometrics letter. Anyway...

Try not to be too worried before you see what they actually want. Lots of people get them-frequently for things they've already submitted, unfortunately. USCIS loses things sometimes. ;)

Yes BUT this has been happening for LOTS AND LOTS of people on here. They get sent the biometrics letter and then the RFE is because the "evidence" they're requesting is the biometrics. It's their way of "pausing" the system by letting it know they're waiting on more info.

So... yes. It could very well just be about biometrics but it might NOT be. only way to know for sure is to wait and see.

Well that's really great. Like people need to be more worried/confused. ;)

Hi everyone,

I have finally received my RFE letter and it asks for I-693 again. I have submitted my DS-3025 Vaccination form from my country and also I-693 with all the Vaccination part filled and signed by the CS. I have no idea what I did wrong.

Can anyone shed some light? I had to have the I-693 previously as I didn't finish some of the vaccinations in my home country. I have heard about the infopass thingy, but I do not know what it does? Does anyone have some advice?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

LC
