Good News! Finally, today, one WEEK after International Women's Day, alla has come home from shopping and stated that she has finished her "gift shopping" for "Women's Day"

When we go into "high-end" places (bebe, VS, etc.) they almost encourage me to get off the man chair and go see what my wife's doing. At other places, they look at me like I'm some kind of perv.

For the record, I've been married long enough now that I prefer the man chair. The "fashion show" was cool when we were dating, but now the prospect of seeing her naked is supremely overshadowed by the fact that I'm only "catching a glimpse" between the 22 outfit changes and I'd much rather just be sitting there in that man chair dozing off. I can "catch a glimpse" at home.

This probably belongs in the "strange RUB habits" forum, but in Ukraine at least the men all go into the dressing room with their wives/girlfriends and if they are the small dressing rooms with a curtain only, they all stand in the hallway with their head poked into the curtain. No doubt THAT scene would raise some eyebrows, even in Vermont!

This is the problem with today's American men. Can you picture John Wayne sitting near a woman's dressing room waiting for Maureen O'Hara to show him a new skirt? The whole silly TV image of modern men as gullible, easy to manipulate buffoons is becoming reality. Men have become cartoon-like, pathetic figures. And they march off into feminist-land happily.

I consider not being like John Wayne a positive thing. John Wayne (who wasn't ACTUALLY a cowboy btw) was just another Angeleno making a living by wearing makeup and fancy costumes. He was also a racist, believed Native Americans were "selfish" "savages," actively avoided military service in WW2, and oh yeah probably would have spit in your wife's face for having the gall to be Russian. Myths aside, John Wayne was one of the biggest douche bags of his age.

Actually, John served the war cause by making patriot movies. And he was not too racist to marry THREE Hispanic woman...and he was a great actor in many people's minds. Not sure why he'd "spit in my wife's face." My wife is white. You forget Hollywood plays by different rules. He was also good to his friends and hired them in his movies.

This is your problem, Mox, you see people one-dimensionally. He's a "douche bag." He also was one of the all-time great and successful actors to ever come out of Hollywood. But you lefty goofballs always go for personal attacks and half truths.

My use of "John Wayne" was as a model of the men of the "Greatest Generation." Anyone with any perspective would see that. Take off the San Francisco horse blinders.
