The first thing you should do is create a timeline (My Controls>>Add/Edit My Timeline) - this will not only help others but will help you by calculating a possible adjudication date range. The next thing might be to check out the Immigration Timelines (above or here). You would see that VSC is currently averaging around 113 days (NOA1 to NOA2).

The K1 application receipt is called NOA1

NOA2 is when VSC approve the petition.

As for the waiting time, it was 2 to 3 month before mid december, and now that they are late in processing at VSC, the waiting time is more 4 to 5 months.

Hi, first off, welcome to VJ! Second, welcome to the China forum, we try to help each other out with as much as we can. Third, please, please carefully read the FAQ's and Guides :guides:

Many times, new folks come onto the forums and ask questions that were asked a week ago, or things that could easily be answered by reading the guides. We all love to help, but you really have to be proactive in this process..it is way too expensive to not be mentally invested in every step. Part of the reason I say all of this is that you are certainly going to receive much harsher comments from others if you post a lot of "common newbie" questions without researching first.

As for your petition approval, it can really vary. If you filed VSC in Sept. you could have been approved in a month, now it looks like that wait is longer. You can see this by looking at the "immigration stats" pages for estimates. Some people on here get very luck and some are unfortunate victims of a non-perfect system.

Good luck and let us know what we can do to help.

NOA1 = Notice of Action 1 = Confirmation that your petition has been received.

NOA2 = Notice of Action 2 = This will be sent upon approval of the petition

The times vary and typically can be between 3-5 months. When we filed, the USCIS website data indicated that the current processing time was 5 months but we received approval in 3 months (so the data listed is just a general guide)

Different times of year and case loads can affect the processing times also.

After the NOA2 the USCIS will send the packet to the NVC. They will issue a new case number for the consulate and send the packet to the consulate of jurisdiction for your case (the one you indicated in your petition).

Then the consulate will send packet 3 to the beneficiary....complete and send the forms required then they send packet 4 with interview date. A bit more to the latter part here but this is the basic flow of the process.

Welcome to VJ and as mentioned in an earlier post - fill in your timeline so its easy for others to identify where, when and what!
