I DO NOT CARE what they do in the UK, Australia, Canada. This is not any of those places. Our government has a proven track record of destroying everything they contact at every level. Our government was never set up or intended to operate what should be private business.

Here's a novel idea, try it on for size, see how it fits.

I DON NOT CARE about a damn thing you think or say. Not a one. Not in the slightest. I simply DO NOT CARE. Let's say you radically changed a point of view, 180 degrees, from one side to the other. DO I CARE? Survey says.... um, no! Not in the slightest. Just DO NOT CARE.

I thought I'd point it out. Not that you care about my not caring, of course, certainly you don't, nor should you. Let's go on just NOT CARING a damn whit what the other thinks. Copacetic? Perhaps. But of course WE DO NOT CARE if it's copacetic or not, either.

Untrue. They have developed many processes which are today used in plants across the world. Their focus on defect reduction was hugely innovative at one point in time.

Read before. The concept of defect reduction from start to finish was very innovative and taught to them be a American professor name of Deming. Now I am sure their new or fresh ideas that they were able to come up with to improve the assembly line or management technique is original to some but not me. And we can all sit here and come up with a unique Japanese product like whack a mole or Bukkake or something but I was generalizing about the products they export to us that we buy.

I am impressed with the Japanese. I even remember when I was young that many things said made in Japan like they do now with the Made in China. And also like we do now with the Made in China label they were pieces of junk but the Japanese decided to do something about being known as a laughter of making junk products and looked for ideas. They found one in Deming. They pushed hard to introduce a quality process from beginning to end and not only that they would only buy their raw products to make goods from suppliers that also used the total quality method and started on the road to earning respect.

Newark has a progressive and very cool mayor. Cory Booker was profiled recently on NBC News with Brian Williams. He comes across as very down to earth, very in touch. He could have gone to Wall St. and made a mint, but he chose to stay in Newark and rebuild the city, one block at a time.

He is a good man. I hope he runs for Gov one day.

To me, it is to Japan's credit that they recognized the utility in Deming's work before the Americans did. Like it or not, they implemented and perfected his methods. They get credit where credit is due.

Toe also and I gave them the credit. They showed us the way.

Luckytxn -- do you realize how nice it is to talk to you like this, like two normal decent civilized human beings?

When you stop labeling us Democrats "Socialists" and calling us names, we can actually have a nice conversation.

This is not a political thread so don't get used to it. I remember having to endure on these very same OT forum and other sites the constant labels and hate spewing from the Socialists about Bush over and over and over. I remember saying to all here and other places that when they are in power the same will be done to them. They said that in their case their labels were right and ours will be wrong.

Now since your head Socialist God has been in power and y'all control the reigns of power the fun begins for us. You think you are tired of it now? Wait for a few more years of the constant senseless labeling and name calling that others had to endure. It is the beginning so enjoy it and hopefully (but doubtful) a lesson will be learned.
