I feel very sorry that there are people who believes that this movie is a true story. Very sad indeed. Yes, so many people I've known growing up...now they are in their 40s & 50s believes 2012 is the date of Armageddon.

What absolute rubbish that film was... Luckily I only rented it on DVD.

  • Ridiculously long
  • Totally unrealistic escapes
  • Some scenes looked straight out of a b grade sci-fi film
  • Pointless action dragged on for no reason.
  • Ridiculous and boring plot
  • Crappiest ending ever

Now I will have to see it ...

 yeah. There's nothing wrong with Sci Fi "B" movies. These things have cult followings for a reason.

The problem is that I found 2012 to be only moderately entertaining as a B movie. The Day After Tomorrow had more of an "amusement" factor to it, as have several other disasterbation movies. This one was more somber in tone, making it less entertaining and more gratuitous, really.

It's not horrible...just bad. It's a shoulder shrugger.

The movie just didn't flow. For example, the government tracked down anyone who found out about it, yet someone was still able to broadcast about it on the radio, ironically in a van near a restricted site.

The b grade was more along the lines of the camera work during various scenes. Not to mention that some scenes were utterly pointless. Like the Russian girl dying in a 'sealed' compartment but the others next to her making it. This is basically just a rushed out movie, with the sole intention of earning a quick buck.

The ending was almost as boring as Babylon A.D's ending. The entire movie should have been condensed down to 1/4 of what it was and focused more on the aftermath, for the remainder of the film. Had I purchased the film, it would be in the trash by now.

Another movie I wasn't planning on seeing, that I still don't have to see. Excellent

Yep - me too  .

it's not "night of the Lepus". That's one disaster movie you should see, if you haven't already

Why would you buy a DVD of a movie that you haven't seen?

I still recall hearing all the scary talk about "By the year 2000. . ." when I was growing up.
