What absolute rubbish that film was... Luckily I only rented it on DVD.

  • Ridiculously long
  • Totally unrealistic escapes
  • Some scenes looked straight out of a b grade sci-fi film
  • Pointless action dragged on for no reason.
  • Ridiculous and boring plot
  • Crappiest ending ever

I usually like or at least appreciate films others might not but this is the first film that I would have honestly left the theater. For example, many hated Waterworld, yet I liked it.

I just don't get why directors don't learn from films like Avatar, Star Wars or even the latest Star Trek - which are awesome.

The director has produced some good films, so what a disappointment this was..

# The Day After Tomorrow (2004)

# The Patriot (2000)

# Independence Day (1996)

# Stargate (1994)

# Universal Soldier (1992)

They're looking at remaking Logan's Run, which should be interesting. I enjoyed the concept of that film. Of course special effects back then were laughable.

I enjoyed StarGate and to a degree Universal Soldier..

There's a piss poor attempt at a robot in that movie - but the fight scene in the medical bay had some really good effects for the time.

Stargate was probably the best he did.

Universal Soldier has a bunch of awful direct to VHS sequels, and a new "official" theatrical sequel with Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. They're 18 years older now and full of botox. Great if you want to see two guys who look like 70s gameshow hosts doing martial arts.

Independence Day was fun.

Awww hail no!

I saw that recently - there's a scene where Jeff Goldblum is supposed to have drank an entire bottle of whiskey and then inexplicably sobers up - instantly.

You gotta try to turn off that attention to detail  It's better that way.

I saw 2012 in the theater-but I hardly even remember it. I remember thinking it sucked though. ;)

Same here! My wife dragged me to it kicking and screaming when it was in theaters, and afterward she apologized profusely for subjecting me to such an awful movie.

It's disasterbation, pure and simple...but not even entertaining, really. Just dumb and cliched from start to finish.
