My wife said when she went to get her NBI today they told her to come back in 2 weeks. Any body ever heard of this? She said the problem she could think of would be a old cell phone bill. Would that show up on a NBI report. She does have a name that is common in th Philippines.

They call it "hit."

That's when someone's name matches a name on NBI's watch list or a person with criminal records.

I hope things work fine sooner.

My wife got her NBI back in 1996 and she said it only took two days, but when you're renewing, it took her about 5 to 10 minutes whenever she renewed hers.

I had mine on the same day I went to NBI. I'm sure nobody else has the same name as mine. I have three uncommon first names. That's a unique combination.

was this her first time to get an NBI clearance? If so, it is pretty normal. Mhay's nanay applied the same day that she did...Mhay got hers (she had NBI clearance a couple of times) and Nanay didnt..she had to go back today to get it. Of course there seemed to be someone else using her name for bad, so she had extra steps...but A LOT of people were being told to come back in 2 weeks when we went to get Mhay's NBI.

She got someone with the same name as her. Don't worry! They usually say to go back in 2 weeks to get the NBI clearance if there's a hit but your wife can always call the NBI office where she requested it to ask if it's already available. I did the same. I got mine 4 days earlier than the date they told me to come back.
