Hello everyone. I have a question about the affidavit of support. I am looking at the I-134 instructions provided by the USCIS. They say:

You must submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate.

a. statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits, identifying the following details regarding your account.

1. date account opened;

2. total amount deposited for the past year, and;

3. Present balance.

b. statement of your employer on business stationery showing:

1.date and nature of employment

2.salary paid; and

3.whether the position is temporary or permanent.

c. If self-employed:

1.Copy of last income tax return filed; or

2.Report of commercial rating concern.

d. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

As far as I can tell from this, you do not have to submit your tax forms with the I-134, unless you are self employed. Has any filipino/filipinas been through the interview at USEM, and have not provided this information? I can, I just want to only submit what is necessary, and if anyone think it helps, please say so. Thank you.

Also if you are feeling generous, could you provide a list of things you find necessary for the beneficiary to take with to the interview. Thanks again.

Here's the checklist for the interview:

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

My then fiance (now husband) isn't self-employed but he sent me the following for the Affidavit of Support:

-accomplished Form I-134

-bank statements for his checking and savings accounts

-letter of employment

-latest 1040 and W-2

-Paypal transactions between the two of us

-money transfer receipts

-four pay stubs

All of them came in colored photocopies except for the letter of employment and I-134.

All the best for the interview!

God bless us constantly.

You are welcome. You should always provide them with more than enough rather than risk being placed under AP even if your fiancee would pass the interview. ;)

^^^ :thumbs::yes: ^^^

Don't forget to send her your IRS Tax Transcripts for the past three years.

She also should have a copy of the entire K1 packet (including the originals of all receipts, etc).

I would also suggest the past 3 years of W2's as well.

Shirryl was asked for both by the pre-screener...

:thumbs: That wasn't required from me. The pre-screener said, "affidavit of support..." I handed him a set of papers. That did it.

Better have them ready though.
