Hi lji. Glad to hear that the interview was a cake walk. Many congrats.

Just couple of quick questions.

Were you able to collect the passport the next day from VFS?

Noticed you scheduled your medical very close to your interview date. Is this safe to do?

It shouldn't be a problem. I was concerned about this as well, but circumstances there left us no choice. Apollo hospital is open on Saturday, so wifey was able to get her medical done on Friday, pick up the results on Saturday, and went to the interview on Monday.

And yes, she did collect her passport the next day (Tuesday) from the VFS office in Chennai...

Good luck vivek!!

Since couple of you had your interview all ready, will ask you.

Question to everyone but especially if you are from India.

Vaccinations?!

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1331.html

I read the above site & dont know what to think.

In order to assist the panel physican, and to avoid delays in the processing of an immigrant visa, all immigrant visa applicants should have their vaccination records available for the panel physician's review at the time of the immigrant medical examination. Visa applicants should consult with their regular health care provider to obtain a copy of their immunization record, if one is available. If you do not have a vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of the panel physician.

I don't think hubby has a vaccination record (but will check to make sure) & he doesent have a regular Health Care Provider. I know it says "the Panel Physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirments" but wondering what happened when you (which there isnt many of us yet that had a medical exam yet) got your medical exam?

No need to worry ... does his birth certificate show of any vaccinations taken after birth? I believe in Mumbai also you have to make an appointment with Apollo hospital there. The examining physician will make the call as to which vaccinations will be required for him if no vaccination records are present.

What does your attorney have to say about this? You should ask him, get his input, follow his advice.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Maybe I'm missing something, but even if you were to ask you attorney, you still would have to follow procedures as per NVC & Mumbai consulate
