Hey zansgirl... when did you POE again??

I'm waiting for all my cards and stuff too -- I've been here exactly 2 weeks yesterday! I haven't even got a welcome to the USA letter yet!

Can't wait to get all my docs in order so I can go and get my license and stuff like that!

Port of Entry - February 26, 2010 Baltimore International, Maryland

USCIS -- ROC package sent off

November 26, 2011 to Vermont station November 30, 2011 received NOA1December 16, 2011 received biometrics appointment.

January 04, 2012 Biometrics

September 2, 2012, RFE Received.

September 22, 2012 RFE responded to

October 15, 2012 ROC approved, 10 Green card on its way.

Usually ur greencard shows up days after u get ur welcome letter. many get 2 or 3 welcome letters!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

:lol: I never did receive a hard copy of the NOA1 when we started our journey so USCIS made up for it by sending me two welcome letters! :)

I POE'ed Feb 11th....got two welcome letters about two days apart and then the next day the Green Card came.... If the SSN card isn't in my ,mailbox today, I am driving to Puyallup..(might as well take the dog and then hit the park down there...)

Hey Biglos!

today is actually officially 3 weeks -- I don't count the FRiday I POEd as it's not like it would have made any official list on a Friday afternoon.

So far? Nada. No SSN, no welcome letter, no GC. I was just reading Zansgirls stuff, she waiting like a month for both things?

not to sound like a broken record, but I sure wish this stuff would get a move on. we would have went and applied the monday after I got in if we'd known that they weren't going to send me anything.

hate it when people/places/institutions say they are going to do things and then don't.

/rant.

Will try and be more positive next post, promise!

Hubby got his Welcome to America letter today! Woo Hoo!!! He asked my why did they send us two in the same envelope? We looked at it and saw that it belongs to someone else in this area. Guess their automatic paper folder doesn't work so well.... WHOOPS! :bonk: I'll be sending this one that doesn't belong to me out tomorrow. I would hope someone did the same for me!

Got my Green Card today!

POE was in Blaine Washington, Pacific Highway crossing on Feb 7th and received SSN Feb 22, about 12 days(minus holiday and sundays) after my POE

Green Card March 8th, one month from POE.

CR1 countdown to PR adjustment 2012

Good luck to all those waiting and still going through their journey!!!

Yay! Your green cards should be coming shortly! :thumbs: You can use the receipt number on your welcome letter to track the green card production...just in case you missed logging onto the USCIS site. :lol:

I also received two Welcome letters, don't know why but I did.

[/quote FYI...when I tried to apply at the SSA office aweek after I got here..they told me I would have to wait the 2-3 weeks...so i did...then I applied in person..bada bing bada boom
