Hi,

I am currently working under L1 visa, and in the process of applying for AOS.

When I came here my employer never gave me a copy of the I-797A (notice of approval) for my L1. I wasn't asked for it in the USCIS. So I didn't think it was actually something I need to carry along.

Now while filing for AOS (one-step-filing), I was told that I need to have my I-797A on hand. I don't know how long it will take or if my employer will actually give me the original copy of it [or a notarized copy]? I have the stamped I-94 card with its validity dates, and also the L1 petition stamped as "ADMITTED" too.

I agree to be sure I need to have a copy, but is this imperative in filing for AOS? Will the USCIS ask for it?

Any help would be appreciated. I just want to have my AOS submitted without issues and it's getting more and more complicated... :crying:

Thanks, though it's weird they never gave me a copy of that. Sigh - and given them it could be a headache.

It's just weird USCIS officers did not look for it when I entered US for the first time, so the I-94 was the only one I was aware of until now.
