Guys,

I'm trying to get a job in KS, USA. I have a 4 year Bachelors degree in Computing and 8 years total experience. Please can you tell me how to go about getting headhunters etc?

I went to school in Kansas. You might try approaching the Universities there for help. Either Kansas State University in Manhattan or University of Kansas in Lawrence.

Hindocha - How's your job hunting going? Any luck yet?

I found these sites useful (apologies if posting URLs are against ToS, if so I will remove)

www.linkedin.com -> seems to be real useful here, and every job I applied for, people were checking me out on it

www.dice.com -> very good for tech stuff

www.careerbuilder.com

www.theladders.com -> more geared to management roles

www.monster.com -> didn't find this as useful tbh for Florida

craigslist.com -> better than you might think, even for IT jobs

I got a few offers pretty quick, using the above but I worked each day a routine of going through each one and applying. Lots of silence, lots of odd rejections but perseverence is the key. Resume expectations are a bit different too (had a headstart here due to my previous work), if you want me to check over your resume mail me it, always good to have someone objective look at it.

Don't know about KS, but in Fl (if you're IT management) some companies at that level hire direct and don't post to job boards, so might be an idea to websearch for business and check their websites out.
