Question about Form 134 - AOS

:help:

Just a question about the I-134 for my fiancee petition..

I'm currently self-employed and my GROSS annual income is $21k (line 1 on schedule C of Form 1040). But my total income on my Form 1040 (line 12) states that I only had $12K, that was actually the amount in line 31 on my schedule C (Net profit/loss). So my question is... are they going to check my gross (from Schedule C) or my net annual income (from Form 1040)? Would I be needing a co-sponsor or would my income be enough?

If I'm gonna be needing a co-sponsor, my parents are willing to sign it for me.. Which forms would they need to fill out in addition to my I-134?

I would really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance! C:

What did you enter on line 22 (on the 1040)?

As for co-sponsor - they'll need to submit an I-134 and any supporting evidence to back that up - no additional forms (essentially the same as the sponsor would).

$12k..

Co-sponsor it is then..

Edited to add: Before you start hearing (or may have already heard) that USEM doesn't accept co-sponsors, you should know that they in fact do.

Sometimes Manila accepts cosponsors for K visas and sometimes they don't. So to simply say "in fact they do" is misleading, IMO as many have been told otherwise to their great disappointment on interview day. In any event, a parent, not parents, would cosponsor. Pick the one with enough individual income to qualify.

Just to clarify, you mentioned 12K as the number on line 12. For many self-employed, it's the same number but line 22 is the key.

When the individual is asked about their current income, they state only their own income. It's called reading carefully, interpreting literally and answering honestly. If somebody asked you what your salary was, would you answer by stating your joint income with your spouse? Answer the question actually asked.

The K1 step-by-step guide will clear this up for you. Start there, as understanding the process is critical to your success. Also, if you have a question, start your own thread instead of hijacking another one.
