Hey guys

So Ive been living here in New York with my husband since June. I have a job now and subsequently have enough money to afford to change my passport to my married name. I have all the forms, the fees, documents etc... but I'm just wondering what now will happen to my green card, as that is still in my maiden name, even though we were already married before my green card was issued.

How will the affect me if I change the name on my passport but not on my greencard, which is up for renewal next June so I would presume I could change the name then when I have to renew?!

If you try to change the name on your green card now don't you have to pay a $300 or so fee?
