Day started yesterday at 2:00 AM and ended at 11:00 PM, actual flying time was less than seven hours, rest was waiting in long long lines.

No further comment, except this was done for my safety. That's at least was what all those signs said.

The day will come when driving - or taking the boat if you have to cross a body of water - will be quicker than flying. Maybe at that point more people will see the lunacy that's going on here.

What strikes me as unusual, is that any terrorist that came here that did substantial damage, came here perfectly legally. Can only wonder if what is done today would even have stopped these terrorists back then. Certainly could not profile them.

To top our trip off, wife and I picked up some kind of virus or flu coming back. The kind where if you eat anything, either wants to come straight back up, down, or both. Consumers Report had several articles on this subject, conserving fuel by recirculating the air from some odd 400 people jammed in that seal can.

On one flight coming back sat in the can for 40 minutes delaying take off, when they claimed they were having problems with the AC system, but didn't say what. Now I know, the vents were plugged with every disease known to mankind.

Checking for the best rates our tickets were 400 bucks more then a couple of years ago, not an empty seat in the plane, but yet they claim they are losing money. I opted not to pay $3.69 for a small chocolate chip cookie or ten bucks for a tiny sandwich and refused a free drink because I saw the flight attendant sticking her fingers inside that tiny plastic cup. But they got us anyway.

Also misplaced my wife's luggage, but they did deliver it to our home yesterday, was all full of mud, no extra charge for that, but otherwise in good condition.

So for our extra four hundred bucks per ticket, got free treatment for a colonoscopy prep, and enough dirt to plant a flower.

Its only a matter of time before they start showing up on highways with checkpoints asking for papers. Its called Transportation Safety Admin, not Airline Safety Admin.

Im sorry, Nick. Guess we may as well get used to things. Sigh.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

It'll be the day this country comes to screeching halt. "The terrorists" will have won at that point without even lifting a finger. They're getting awefully close to winning many battles as it is.
