Hi to all!

Is there any time along the K1 application when my fiance would need to show her original birth certificate?

If yes, at what point?

Or is a valid Philippine passport an alternative document to show in place of the birth certificate?

She's having problems getting an original copy of her birth cert. from their census office (in the Philippines).

We want to make sure we have original and photocopies of everything on time so we don't delay in case it's needed.

Thanks for any input!

heya!

back in 2007, they required authenticated BC from NSO in security paper on time of the interview with other documents such as cenomar, passport etc...

better secure one, how did she get a passport without BC?

thanks for the info!

i'm glad to see replies from couples with a partner from the philippines :)

when she applied for her passport previously, they accepted a certified true copy of her birth certificate from the local civil registry that's why she didn't have any problems then.

but now she's trying to get a copy from NSO but she's having a difficult time.

what is CENOMAR? it's the first time i heard that.

Hi, I am from Philippines and now in USA for almost a year now. Just simply request ur fiancee's bc and cenomar thru nso website, its very easy..once she filled the request form and have the confirmation, she will then go to the bank and pay for the bc and cenomar request...CENOMAR means Certificate of No Marriage...I also obtain same documents for k1 visa.

Birth certificate is one of the requirement and there's no other replacement for that. Why is she having a hard time securing one? It's easy to get, maybe if you'll state the reasons why she's having a hard time maybe we can help.
