They are looking at how do you have time to develop a relationship while married to someone else. If you had a hideous long separation period you can defuse it a bit. But there are people that are waiting for divorce papers to file and that is a red flag about the relationship and the maturity of the people involved.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks for the reply. He has been seperated with this woman for over 5 years. She actually left the country and has not had any contact with her. He did not bother to do a divorce earlier because, he had not found anyone serious to marry. So he will need to show prove that he has been seperated with the woman correct?

Anything that will show that the old relationship was over and dead before they new relationship and filing started. If someone jumps into a new relationship at the demise of the old one it is called rebound and such are not apt to last. If there is a period of self reflection between the new relationship has a much better chance

Thanks guys for your help.NigeriaorBust, he did not just leave one relationship to the other. He has not been with this woman for over 8 years. IShe is a German lady, was 8 years older than him. He has never been to Germany, they met in Cameroon and got married there before she left for Germany to meet her family and get things together before moving back to cameroon to meet him. He was at the process of setting up his cyber cafe (actually that is how they met) and wanted to be done with his business before thinking of travelling to Germany. was wondering what he can use to prove this at the embassy if needed.

I am the US citizen, and he is the benefi. in this case. He has never been to the US nor has he been to Germany. In 2003 he applied for a US visa to attend his sister's graduation (visitor's) and he was refused a visa to the US. That is it, he has been so much into establishing his career in cameroon as oppose to travelling out of the country. In 2003, when he applied for a visitor's visa, he indicated he was married (which is correct because he had not divorce his then wife, though they were not together).

Thanks,

If she never was in the US has he been back there ? If there have been no passport stamps to Germany or Cameroon that will help to prove the lack of relationship
