Vaccinations are required in order to adjust status.

The cost of vaccinations can vary widely. If you have insurance through your spouse (or otherwise) it is frequently possible to get the vaccines for no extra charge at your doctor's office on a 'regular' visit. Or, you can try the county health department, and probably only pay 10-20$ per shot.

Once you get your vaccines completed, take the records to a civil surgeon and have them transcribe them to the I693. If you have them done at the CS, they will surely charge you much more money.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.

they said in papers that get your vaccination done by a designated civil surgeon......are you sure that i can have my vaccination done from anywhere and go to designated CS and ask him to transcribe details to I-693 form?

Yes, as long as you take the records of the immunisations to the CS.

Unfortunately easier said than done. County health Dept's focus on children's vaccines, and adult's are not included in the vaccine shots needed for AOS.

Check the pinned topics in AOS.

Any personal experience comments also welcome. :star:

Main thing is to get a civil surgeon who won't rip you off. They are sometimes difficult to find.

Yes best bet is to use the Health Department and take those records to the Civil Surgeon to be transposed.

I agree with that statement, you should absolutely call your states health department, especially if you are short on money.

In most counties around where I live you can actually get vaccination for free by the state at certain clinics just by telling them that it is for immigration purposes or that you cannot afford them. This is perfectly legal and they have funds that are earmarked for the program.
