CR1 picture requirements

ooops I just realized that green cards DON"T have pictures hahahaha sorry, disregard. I wanted to cancel this post but I couldn't figure out how...

Actually, both of my green cards did have my photo on it. Unless you have had a biometrics appointment where they took your photograph, they will use the photograph you submitted with your application.

Green cards do have pictures on them. The picture goes on them that you send in - either to NVC or the ones that you bring with you to the interview.

Well how about that. I did a double realize. They do have pics but they don't show an address. Ok good to know. So if I elect for electronic processing and scan the pics I have and send to NVC, can I bring two other pics with me when I interview or should I keep it consistent? I can't say that I took good pics but then again...one look at my driver's license and meh . I guess those types of things are destined to be mug shots.

But yes, you can bring two different pictures than the ones you scan in.

Yup -- like Mal said, it doesn't matter which pics you use. The pics I gave them yesterday were different from the ones that I scanned in for NVC purposes and the clerk didn't comment on it.

Can one smile for the shot ?

I know for a passport you can't, although in the USA you can smile for a passport picture. that's part of our gov't issue ID - mine mostly look like I slept in a dungeon and got up for the picture

Heh, the FIRST set of passport pics I had taken for the NVC (back in October) looked downright menacing. I had it as my Facebook photo for awhile and someone commented something like, "Let's see, left wing, 320 penalty minutes, 3 suspensions and zero goals?" I got a huge kick out of that pic though...if I hadn't accidentally scuffed it with a paper clip, I would have still used it for my Green Card.

They let me choose which photo I wanted when I went to my interview; either the ones I submitted with the DS-230 or the ones I brought. At that point I didn't really care, any would have been fine as long as I was approved

Haha...I had to look up the actual post when you mentioned this. This is what he actually said:

"Let me guess... a 4th line plugger, 59 games played (suspended for 4, pressbox for 14, broken finger in a fight 5), 0g, 6a, -7, 357PIM?"

Yep, what he said was even funnier than my paraphrasing of it. The funny thing is that he lives in Finland...I guess he was thinking of Jarkko Ruutu!
