Just a hypothetical question. Say I am filing for cr-1/ir-1 for my wife... it gets to the point of the medical exam... doctor finds out that she is pregnant.. say by 2 months... does this hurt our chances of getting the visa?

I-130 NOA1 - 05th Nov, 2009
I-130 NOA2 - 10th February, 2010 Yay!!!!

04-12-2010: Interview date assigned by NVC.
05-11-2010: Medical appointment in Rio

05-13-2010: Interview in Rio - APPROVED!!!

06-02-2010: POE in Washington DC - Finally home!

July 30, 2010 - Received the Green Card after receiving 4 welcome letters! USCIS see ya later!

2 YEARS LATER......

03-02-2012: Elegible to lift conditions
06-02-2012: Temporary GC expires

12-20-2012: Permanent GC received

6 MONTHS LATER......

06/03/2013: n400 Filled

10/22/2013: Citizenship test and oath ceremony

Not a problem. There may be some vaccinations she cannot get due to being pregnant, but the doctor will give her a medical waiver for that.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Everyone has said no so far but I am not so sure especially as you didn't specify "pregnant by me" or "pregnant by someone else".. I'm not saying your wife is a cheater but just giving you two scenarios because you didn't specify... plus it's hypothetical :D

In either case, it will be noted and it's important to be honest especially if there are some vaccinations that are contra-indicated if someone is pregnant.

One issue that might arise is if she's 2 months along and you haven't visited in 6 months then they may not (I'm not saying WON'T just MIGHT not) issue the visa as in a valid relationship people don't cheat.

If she's pregnant and it's yours then absolutely no issue because the CR-1 visa is an immigrant visa, so if anything it's an indication of a real relationship (in my opinion of course, I don't know how they think in Manilla).

I'm also thinking it might be good if she can take the letter where you were so excited she was pregnant (with your baby) etc with you to the interview. That'd go down well I think. Also proof that you DID visit during the time the child was conceived so they don't doubt it.
