I suggest you use the name you wish to have the green card issued in. If that is your married name, then list your married name. You don't need any identification in your married name at the moment. But you're visa will be issued in the name in the passport, if you want this to be your married name then I suggest you change your passport soon.

Good luck.

Since it's quite difficult to change your name in the passport in Malaysia, you may want to file in your maiden name and put your married name as "other name used". Your CR-1 eventually will be issued in your passport name.

I had my SS card and green card issued in married name by submitting the marriage cert.

I always advise to use the current legal name. If your name changed at marriage, that's your name. If you need to do some paperwork, to change identification papers, then do it. My Chinese wife's name did not change when we married. If yours did, then you have your answer.

Hi. We filed in my previous name (im the beneficiary) as we did it days after our marriage and I hadn't changed my passport or other documents yet. We understand that when it gets to NVC we will supply a copy of my cancelled passport in old name and my new passport in my married name. I certainly hope that works.
