For those who filed for a Canadian PR Card...now filing DCF

Can we not submit everything all at once with DCF filing, as we did when filing for the Canadian PR?

Also, can my Canadian Husband schedule his medical and criminal name search previous to receiving the package requesting this?

We are a bit unsure if he must have fingerprinting or only a name search...he has lived in 2 other Provinces, since 18; and no other countries.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

If he has no criminal record, never been arrested, then a name check will do, it will be a Canada wide check.

He can't schedule his medical until he has the interview letter or email.

You can't submit everything all at once. You submit your I-130 and documents initially at the consulate and you submit the rest at the interview in Montreal.

TY for your response. We contacted Ottawa, so hoping to have the appointment some time in the next 2 weeks. This board has been so helpful, as well as the search feature. The terminology is what I need educating on but in due time!

May I ask how long the wait time is once the appointment takes place in Ottawa, until we hear from Montreal; next package?

Thank you again.

Hi,

I'm not exactly sure. Some people have waited around 2 months for approval of the I-130 (checklist etc from Montreal follows that).

Here is a post from a person who recently filed DCF (although in Calgary)
