Traveling out of USA to visit fiance - Questions

Hi all! I am a NEWBIE, so please be gentle!

I am engaged to a UK citizen, who plans on relocating here to the USA. I have filed the I-129F, and received NOA1. It is my understanding that the next step in the process is receipt of NOA2.

I am planning on visiting the UK at the end of May for a total of 3 weeks to see my fiance. I am just very anxious to keep our case moving forward smoothly, and as quickly as possible.

I have the following questions:

1) Should I contact anyone from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services to let them know I will be out of the country?

2) Should I expect to receive anything further by the end of May (as in NOA2 or any other requests for information)?

3) What exactly does NOA2 consist of, and what information should I be gathering now in regards to it? Or should I just wait to get it?

4) Should I bring over the original copies of my birth certificate/proof of divorce when I go to the UK to leave with my fiance for his interview? Or will I need them here in the US before his interview, and just mail them to him later?

I realize that there is TONS of information on this site, and plan on doing more research here myself. I just figured if I posted, that one of you may be able to help me out a bit quicker.

Thanks in advance for any help!

NOA2 is just letting you know you got approved and that your part is done, then it's your fiance's part!

You can leave the country.

The NVC will send your case to the US embassy in your fiance's country, you should learn about what your fiance has to collect and send to the consulate.

Your fiance will need some documents from you for his/her packets

Affidavit of Support, and any divorce certificates from you if you were married before.

Read the guides, try to learn about it accurately! (Really great resources here!)

Good luck :)

You should let them know before you go, in case you get a RFE, as RFEs are time sensitive. Your case will be close to being done while you're gone.

If you have no RFEs, there's nothing more on your end - they send you some snail mail (NOA2, NVC).

The NOA2 is just a notice like the NOA1.

Bringing the documentation is a good idea. He'll need it for packet 3 IIRC. :)

Hello K and L,

Please explain why a RFE is time sensitive..

In case we get one is there a time limit to send it back to USCIS?

Thanks!
