So he recently spoke in the house of lords and somehow he continues to cite the US first amendment and yet wants to ban Muslims from Europe. Isn't that a little strange?

Its like he picks up on this:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

whilst ignoring this:

....and I thought Mrs. Smith (before she stepped down) had put him on the UK naughty list along with Mr. Savage?

Ms Smith made some idiotic decision. That decision was struck down, and rightly so. Of course because of that he is given more attention than he deserves. His party seems to be the Dutch equivelant of the BNP but with more discontented voters likely to vote for it, unfortunately.
