Question regarding student employment and affidavit of support

Hello everyone,

This is my dilemma. I am sure this has a very simple answer but it is kind of making we wonder on the best way to answer. I have been looking at the I-134 Affidavit of Support and on line 7 there is the following fill in the blank statement: I am employed as or engaged in the business of ___________________ (Type of Business) with ______________ (Name of Concern). Well, the situation is that I am a student at a state university. I do have a part time job on campus but of course it is not related to my future profession. I have already talked to a family member about being my co-sponsor, and he is more than willing. My question is whether I should put "Student" as (Type of Business) and "Name of the University that I attend" as (Name of Concern) or should I put the name of the company where I work part time on campus. This has puzzled me because right below that it talks about the amount that I derive from my employment yearly. I will go ahead and mention that on the G-325 I did list the part time job that I have on campus.

One more question I have is regarding whether or not I should send an official copy of my college transcript so that the consular official can see that I will not always hold a menial job and have such low income.

Thanks in advance everyone,

Jhon

Keep it simple. Just write where you are currently employed. It does not matter if its not related to your future profession. They want to know where you are working RIGHT NOW. A college transcript won't even be looked at.

Being a student is not employment. List your occupation and employer, then how much you derive annually from that job. Future employment is not accepted. You can mention that you are a student and will be employed full time when you graduate, but that alone would not get you approved with your I-134. Your co-sponsor meeting the requirement is what will get the approval in your case/situation.
