im so confused

on the I864 on part 6 line 23 which asked for your current individual annual income is that GROSS OR NET you suppose to write down????

also when my husband did he I864 he wrote his project business income.

also i got my interview date april 22 in montreal

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING besides what they told me in email. things they dont tell you

also for medical what I need to bring that they dont tell you

Just want to point out that if you got an interview date, then you did the right thing on your I-864. They would have caught it at the NVC stage otherwise. I know this because THAT is what my wife and I got our RFE on at the NVC stage -- we wrote down NET on the form when they really wanted GROSS. So you`ve obviously written down gross...which is correct. :)

As for the other things...Ashen is right: breathe! You have seven weeks or so to prepare for your interview, and all of the information is available here. If it makes it any easier for you, just break things into pieces -- focus on one question at a time. Otherwise it IS too overwhelming. BUT...we are here to help!

I`ve got to be up for my interview in less than seven hours, but I`m not stressed at all about it, just because I`ve had time to look at all of it countless times now and am comfortable with what I have. It took awhile though, as many folks from here (Trailmix!) will tell you. :P

He can't use the business's income, per se - he can only use his personal income from his tax return. I assume he owns the business and pays himself a salary?

It's gross, as Wyatt mentioned.

From the adjudicator's field manual:

For purposes of demonstrating means to maintain income, the determining income amount is the income, before deductions, on the sponsor's income tax return. In other words, income means an individual's total income (adjusted gross income for those who file IRS Form 1040EZ) for purposes of the individual's U.S. Federal income tax liability, including a joint income tax return (e.g., line 22 on the 2005 IRS Form 1040, line 15 on the 2005 IRS Form 1040-A, or line 4 on the 2005 IRS Form 1040EZ or the corresponding line on any future revision of these IRS Forms).

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING besides what they told me in email. things they dont tell you

2 passport photos for each beneficiary and 1 expresspost envelope, you should also bring your Husband's 2009 tax return, just to be careful - they may ask for it.

You didn't file at a consulate in Canada did you? You mailed in your applications and sent your documents to the NVC?

also for medical what I need to bring that they dont tell you

All the info on that can be found here: http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Montr...ppointments.htm - use the links on the left hand side of the page.

also income tax how my husband can claim us ????

That's a big question. There is a tax thread here in the Canada forum, you could try posting in that thread.

what is adjusted gross income is that before any deduction

and the I864P for family of 4 - 125% is that gross before any deduction or net after deductions

my husband just takes any income after all expenses paid in the business example gross annual income 50,000 less deductions of 20,000 leaves his personal income of 30,000.00 IS THAT CORRECT WAY? will interview accept that

i filed in usa and mailed all documents to nvc

what is expresspost envelope for

i wont have a filed copy of 2009 return for my husband but i will have a copy of one as well as his extension he has to wait to file the paper return it with IRS until i get and my children get SSN so that gives us till oct 15

Yes, both figures are gross figures. There are other 'adjustments' that apply to tax returns, other than common ones like tax, these probably do not apply to your Husband.

I really can't advise on his business income, I think it would be best to ask him what is on line 22 of his 1040, or what his gross income is for the year from his self employed income return. Or you may want to ask this in the IR1/CR1 forum.

When you go for your interview you leave your passports there (you and the children) the consulate uses the expresspost envelope to mail them back to you with the visa in it.

As long as you have the extension document for him for 2009 that should be fine, in theory - it would be a good idea to bring some proof of income for 2009 if he has it.
