my then finacee was denied k1 visa in 2008 at lagos nigeria co said it was for immigration purposes", now we are married and getting ready to file for cr-1..we are wondering if it makes sense to hire a lawyer or not, since uscis sent us a letter stating that our 1-129 appilcation has expired and they wont review it .

Well, you are married now so I personally don't think you need a lawyer. I've read on this forum experiences by members from Nigeria that were given a hard time. For that reason only, I would consider a lawyer but I honestly think you don't need one. VJ members have so much info and shared experiences and sometimes give advice that are better than any lawyer.
