I've never seriously thought of having one because for one, I get tired of hearing the same bloody songs over again...and having earphones inside my ear would bother me after awhile. Also, unless I'm completely by myself, I'd be having to turn the volume down or pull the earphones out every time someone wants to talk to me. Podcasts are a cool idea though.

I was under the impression that one of the main reasons to have one of those toys was specifically in order to NOT hear anyone else...

I'm absolutely lost w/out my iPod touch - I use Skype @ work to call NVC every other minute from it, for free. I use it to check email, facebook here. I used it to check the USCIS website every 5 minutes or so. While I'm inputting cases @ work, I listen to audiobooks. I use it in the car to listen to music / podcasts. It's a mini-computer, and when I don't have it, it's like I left my wallet at home. I find it indespensible.

 The iPod Touch is much more useful...I got my wife one over a year ago, and she rarely puts it down.
