What are the worst things you've heard someone say about your culture or country here in the States?

So, in other words, Australia is great if you're mediocre.

If you become successful or wealthy, you get kicked out.

What do you think wealth is.. Money in the bank alone.

There is a reason why 1.1 million of your fellow ex countrymen have moved there. Many of them hardly considered poor.

Much like Europe, Australia is not a country where you scam your own people and deliver record profits. It's why they have weathered the financial crisis without a scratch. They're not interested in a handful of people amassing the majority of wealth, all while their own people live in trailers.

At the end of the day, everyone of my relatives could purchase an apartment in Manhattan outright. What percentage of residents own their own place in Manhattan? Forget about outright..

Go back and read what I asked you. You deflect the question and avoid a direct answer and post your stupid charts and graphs. I asked you a simple question and as always you won't answer it. Go back to google.

What did Australia contribute to the world: A lack of people like you who have been indoctrinated into thinking that they are fantastic and are too blind to see that a large percentage of the world isn't interested in them and doesn't like them. Australians are open-minded and interested in the world around them and therefore make many contributions to global society and economy - they don't just destroy the economy and use flimsy excuses to blow up other countries. I'm so sorry that you think that everyone is out to get America and is therefore terrorists.

If you could read you would have seen that Australia has contributed to many economic areas and to health, sciences and the arts. Since you can't read can you please go away. You are so boring. No one is forcing you to go to Australia but maybe if you did you'd find that it's a fine country. Why do you think so many Kiwi's would rather emigrate there than to the golden land of America?

Sundrop, are you from United Kingdom or the United Kingdom?

Re-read my post. I'm from England, which is part of the group of countries that form The United Kingdom. Plural, multiple, collective countries.

Just as Ukraine is one country, no longer part of any group but was a founding republic of The Former Soviet Union. Plural, multiple, collective countries. You don't tell someone from Russia or Moldovia that they're from The Russia or The Moldovia, so why The Ukraine? We can't even argue that it's to do with the country name starting with a vowel, because we don't say people are from The Uzbekistan, do we? It's just ignorance. And again, that's OK except if you've asked someone where they're from and then you correct them by saying "don't you mean The Ukraine?" That's not just ignorant, it's arrogant and patronizing. There's a difference between correcting someone despite your ignorance and responding by saying "I never realized it's just 'Ukraine' and not 'The Ukraine'. Learnt something new today!"

Non-USCs involved in immigration to the States are a slightly different sort, usually. It's as though we have to waiver some degree of national pride (unless you're Booyah lol) because we're literally fish out of water. But assuming one nation is as good as another just because they happen to have similar accents and share a geographic proximity doesn't make them interchangeable. Would the Swedes and the Norwegians be happy about being lumped together. Why not throw the Finns in too?

Hey Booyah, the definition you posted of Economic Freedom sounds exactly like Libertarianism. So you're saying Australia is more libertarian than the USA? If so, I say good for you. :) At least this shows you how it works in modern day society.

Why are you moving to a country with a destroyed economy and where all foreigners are perceived as terrorists?

You're such a noob dictating who may post and may not. No one is forcing you come to this country or drag your spouse here.

More Kiwis go to Australia because there's that bridge you keep yakking about.

Mostly I have to watch my husband patiently answer the following assumptions

#1... "Italy huh?" You in the Mafia?

#2... "My family is from Italy... Maybe you know them?

#3... (from Italian-Americans usually New York)... "Yo, I'm Italian too"!... but when asked if they speak any Italian... "No, I dont know any Italian but my grandma used to speak it...

#4.... "So I guess you are a great cook" (FYI... No, husband is NOT a great cook)

#5... Upon finding out he is from Italy, many will feel the need to put on a very thick Italian Accent and say some silly "Grazie, you-a-gotta-da-spaghetti or-a great-a pizza"...
