My ex is Anglo-African, meaning he was born and raised in England by immigrant parents from Ghana. He worked on the Carnival Cruises out of Cali for a while and passengers were very reluctant to accept that he could possibly be English, being black and all.... was he sure he wasn't an Aborigine from Australia...

Once again, let me reinforce - This is not a pissing contest... It just illustrates that in 2010, others are doing things better.

dude - it is. in fact, it happens so often i'm surprised there's even a desert in australia given how frequently you get involved in them, it should be a lush jungle instead of sand!

How is using an example of someone doing something better a pissing contest? Australia could be substituted with one of many countries, I just know it best - hence its use.

You sure as hell won't find someone in Aus asking if they have college in Brazil.

This will only stop once spook admits others have a better quality of life.

Newsflash bud but a hell of a lot of engineers and scientists here are from foreign countries. They're not some corvette driving, gun-toting, dumbazz.

13th economy in the world is hardly "a blip on the world economy". Nevertheless, you are missing the overall picture, that a hell of a lot of Australians are very affluent - that is what matters. Hence the article of El Salvadorian immigrants in Australia, who started with diddly-squat, are cleaners, yet have purchased four homes, with some being in the US. US homes that actually cost less than the deposit of a house in AUS.

What I see is Australians aren't too bright. They live elsewhere and tell everyone how great their home country is. Why do they leave?

Probably about as "bright" as someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes the US, yet marries a foreigner.

I have lived here for over four years, therefore, I have earned the legitimate right to voice an opinion over which country offers a better lifestyle.

Why are you so insecure? Who are you trying to convince, yourself? Do you really think everyone here thinks Australia is the best place on earth? You talk like you do, but you live here. So who's the fool?

Clearly it's you who is insecure sir. It's why you have to jump on any and every study, survey and ranking and attempt to discredit it. Quite frankly I don't care what anyone thinks, definitely not what someone on some sort of find a foreign wife due to a midlife crisis thinks.

Luckily the rest of Americans are not sore losers like you. Rather than simply talking out of their azz, they are actually trying to 'Make it a better place'.

Sundrop, are you from United Kingdom or the United Kingdom?

There are aprox 90 different languages spoken here in Houston alone, nevermind the rest of the country. And if I'm in a country on the other side of the world, I'd practically expect to be thought of as an American. Why wouldn't I? And why would that bother me? People in the US don't even know I'm from Canada until I tell them. And I get the same answer every time. "Really? You don't have an accent."

When we can start getting $30-100 international flights like Ryanair does in Europe and also at Concord speed in order to get to other countries, Americans will start traveling more. Canadians aren't any different in that regard. Some travel around the world. But the majority don't. It's expensive and far. Heck, I remember seeing flights from Vancouver to Seattle that cost more than flights from Seattle to Miami.

If you take away the country aspect and think of traveling in continents, Europeans tend to travel around Europe while North Americans tend to travel around North America. I'd guess that South Americans travel around South America the most too.

Besides, flying isn't any fun. Driving is where you get to see the most interesting things.

You keep living in your world of charts and graphs, right here in the USA. If kangaroo land was that great, you wouldn't be here. Mr. Insecure. And I know you have no balls in the real world, don't forget that. ;)

You keep on deflecting your insecurities onto me, followed by a good dose of talking out of your azz, yet assuming your opinion is fact.

Dude, build a high rise after 1976 up there in Boston, and then come talk to me about Kangaroo land.

You own squat. How many high rise buildings have you built?

Obviously more than you considering Boston's skyline.

First building from Boston on the list comes in at 198 - built in 1976
