Clearing confusion from the standpoint of the border about POE

I made a very nice 'detailed' list of 'goods to follow' since I was moving today and the officer didn't even look at it or want it...he said just bring it with you when you move down. Today all I brought with me was the 'big sealed envelope', my passport and my inventory list. Also if you are moving down with a big Uhaul but you still have a few things left to bring down another time...just make a list and tell them that there are a few things still left in Canada for the next trip.

Sent I130 to Chicago - March 1, 2008

Transferred to California - April, 2008

NOA 2 - March 13, 2009 (lost for awhile)

NVC case number given - March 30, 2009

NVC case complete - April 25, 2009

Email for interview - July 3, 2009

Interview - August 12, 2009 DENIED!!

I did my POE in June of 2009 at the Peace Bridge, returned to Canada a week later then back to the US once more before I moved my belongings and closed the sale of my house the following month. I had no issues with any of the belongings I had in my car or my pets. In fact they didn't even look in the car!
