Thanks Carey, I am thinking that they will be asking for it. I will have to get onto this one asap also.

If I dont get it before my interview at least it wont be long behind. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Carey, I'll get my partner to get onto it asap just incase, if I dont receive it by my interview at least it will be not to far behind in the post.

I read in the packet 3 paperwork that if the "applicant has been divorced they should have the original or a certifed copy" But I assumed me to be the applicant only. Not Tim. Arrhh.

Anyhow thanks to all that post that give us the heads up for things like this.

No worries that's why we share - really easy to get, Ted just went to the county courthouse where it was filed and asked for a fully certified copy. He was able to get it then and there - only unexpected was that he had to pay $46 - $1 per page that was certified and the decree was 46 pages long. He was able to leave the courthouse and put it straight in the mail that day so if I dont have it by the end of this week I will have early the week after so am confident it will arrive before my interview :)

Sorry to hear they are delaying you Heidi - not great news!!

Hey Heidi

Sorry to hear that things are being held up. That's absolute #######. I too would be very annoyed.

What makes it worse you can't call them and if you send an email they hardly ever reply or reply after the issue has been resolved.

Once they get the papers they are waiting for it won;t be much longer and you will have your visa in hand.

My thoughts are with you all the best Kathy

Carey is right we are all here to help and share our experiences. Without this forum I would have been so lost. Were here because were all doing the same thing and you have up days and have down day people that have never been through this think they know how your feeling at times but really it is only others that are experiencing this first hand really know.

Good old Super MMM... I'm probably a lot older than some of you and I suppose I'm lucky I can collect mine next year.Your right with nothing going in it will get eaten up with admin fees. What you need to do is call around to other funds and find one that will not take out fees. Apparently there are some out there but i don't know who they are as I haven't bothered seeing I can take mine in a few months.

Another thing....you can have yourself taken off the electoral roll too. After you vote on Saturday you can go online to the Australian electoral office and fill in the on-line form. This will stop you getting fined if you miss an election once you moved o/seas.

All the best everyone for your up coming interviews. Kathy

Hi Caren,

:-) When I received my letter for my interview they sent me the wrong one - I think it was yours that they send off to me. For Matthew..

I have the same interview date!!

Question to all::

Has anyone given thought to your Super fund? With no Australian employer adding funds the total maybe eaten up by fees and charges. I just checked with mine -sunsuper-and there is a $4 a day fee plus percentages of the total balance. Does anyone know what we can do with this?

I'm trying to think of all the stuff I need to wrap up here in Aus before I go overseas to live. If anyone has any hints, maybe things I didnt think of please let me know.

:-)

lol that is too funny :0 Matt is not hard to miss really tall guy, blone hair/blue eye. He knows about this forum so if you see him say hi. Matt says not to worry about the tax return that he will explain so I will just keep my fingers crossed and see what happens when he gets there. If worse comes to worse I will have my dad do the co-sponsor but hopefully they understand that I was in grad school (and that is how I met Matt) and see that I am earning way the poverty line. ahhh I just want this to be done with Matt's visa in hand :)

Hi guys Matt passed with flying colors and ticket is booked to come to LA next Saturday Sept 4th :) All up he said it took 45mins, they went through ALL the paperwork, had him sign paperwork, asked him: how we met? what was I doing in Australia, what am I doing in the US? when's the wedding, has he met my family, have I met his family. When done she said Welcome to America and handed him over the approval notice.

I am so glad to be done with this part and now look forward to seeing Matt next week :)

Hello! I'm approved. Interview went well with no problems (didn't ask for the divorce papers). :-)

Was pretty quick, I was asked the same as Matt and total time was about 30hr including the wait.

Ticket booked for 8th of October as my partner had a pre booked trip to come here to meet the family - in less then two weeks.

Excited its all happening.

Didnt' see Matt there on the day, but I did go to the interview 1 hr early (it was cold outside). But this wasn't a problem, they took me through and processed me.

Sore feet from a day of shopping in Sydney, but SO worth it.

Good luck to every one else!

OMG so much has happened since i posted last.

Thank you all for keep it open and going.

All information no matter how small may help future VJ's so keep it coming.

Grats to all with interviews and an even bigger grats to those approved, hopefully my turn soon.

Speaking of my turn. Chris's Affadavit of Support arrived today so i whizzed down to the post office and

sent package 3 off express, so hopefully there tomorrow.

My daughter still hasn't had her baby. They said if she doesn't have it by the 5th (her due date) they

will induce her.

Chris and I are in a bit of a flap at the moment. We re-read the packet 3 info and it says we have to have the visa

approved within the 4 month validity. When this time starts we aren't sure but we are assuming from the time

of application approval, which gives us only a few more weeks. So make sure any future VJ's that you keep this in mind.

We were advised here on VJ from the start to make sure that Chris sent me the whole application. Which he has done.

So i have everything just in case they ask for anything.

Anyhow must sign off now. Good luck to all who are waiting.
