Hope you get your medical soon EandR. and your right it is so exciting for all.

Gypsy I had my medical with Dr Miller on Monday.

I was in there all of 15 mins it took longer for him to fill in the paperwork he has than the medical. He checked my blood pressure, felt my glands in my neck, listened to my heart (yes I have one lol) and tap my stomach. Done your healthy. Kathy

That is good to hear E, hopefully not long now.

Thanks for the info Kathy, nice to know it's not going to be that scary.

Unfortunately because I'm still working need to book time off at least a week in

advance (they prefer 2). So have got Wednesday off to go to Dr Millers to get paperwork

for bloods and x-rays. Took the whole day off because its the other side of town for me. :)

His rooms are closing for 2 weeks for renovations the day after (just made it in) so

Joan said she would book me in for the doctor for the first day they reopen.

If i was pushed for time she said she would get me in earlier, but as i have

said before I'm waiting until after my second grandson is born before i leave, so have a

little time up my sleeve.

Think my biggest problem is getting the letters of support from Chris.

LOL he needs to be pushed a lot, he's not that good with doing forms :)

Just a bit of extra info for any Adelaidians

When you receive the info list from Dr Miller its states to

bring the medical request letter with you, apparently 95% of

applicants don't receive one, so don't wait for it.

Joan will give you a copy of the letter when you pick up the

request forms for the bloods and x-rays.

I was waiting for a hard copy of my packet 3, as the form/letter wasn't

in my email, then thought maybe i wouldnt get a hard copy (why waste their

paper when email is more efficient) so rang the doctors office to ask about it.

Joan explained that they no longer send them.

Hey lovelies!

Seems like it hasn't been all that long since we got our second NOA2 (I have no idea what monkey business goes on at the USCIS, honestly!) but a lot has happened since. From what I can tell, the consulate received our case file on the 8th of June. We received P3 on the 15th of June, my medical was on the 16th and the results were in on Friday the 18th. I sent off P3 last Wednesday so now we're really just waiting on P4.. it's hard to know how long it will take, but I'd like to think I'll be interviewed on or before the 20th of July. As much as I miss Matt, the closer I get to an interview date the more stressed out I feel about leaving my family and friends, but I'm sure this feeling will pass. We're looking at flights with V Australia to LAX for the first and second weeks of August.. it's all coming up so fast!

Hey BellaSade, welcome to our little forum. Where is your fiance from in Australia?

Grats Zoe and Kathy, its exciting times now :)

Went and got my request for bloods, chest xray and paperwork on Wednesday.

Think Joan was under pressure (being the last day for a fortnight) she only ordered me bloods for Chicken Pox

(I have had it just have no proof)

I'm sure I'm suppose to have tests for syphilis as well (it states on the form the doctor fills out) so am

going to get my doctor to organize it just in case. If they don't accept his findings then i have time but it is

just a bit of a hassle.

Chris has the Affidavit of support filled out, just waiting on some answers from the consul to make sure, hes

filled it out correctly. This far into the process he doesn't want to make mistakes.

Well my count down is like this atm. 2 weeks to my physical, 3 weeks to my trip to QLD for my dad's 70th (and farewells),

7 weeks to my friends wedding (shes marring a Scot who she met on the internet, he moved here.), 9 weeks to my grandsons birth

and finally 11 weeks to see my hunney :) (interview sometime between all this)

I think the hardest thing will be getting the "YES" but not being able to go until mid September, thats why im focusing on

all the little things in between.

Oh well good luck girls. Don't forget to let us know whats happening. the smallest detail may help someone else in the future. :)

Hey Gypsy ..Sounds like you have a busy few months.

Yes you do have to have blood work for syphilis. I was wondering if you called the I.M.V.S in North Adelaide where you have to go for the blood work and tell them it's for a K1 visa they would add it. The lady there is really lovely as well.

When you go for your XRAY's they will tell you to wait for the Xray's and that they will email the report. You need the original report for US Consultate in Sydney, apparently they will not accept a email copy. Joan chased them for over a week to get the original copy for me. So tell them you have to take it with you and wait for it.

I received my police clearance certificate and finger prints on Friday ( couldn't find anything on me ) so now I am waiting on the lawyer to fed ex all the forms to me and Bill's Affidavit of support hopefully I will have them on Tuesday and then I will express post everything into the Consulate hopefully they will have it Friday.

I'm now doing my head in with trying to find out the best way to get some personal effects and a little furniture over to Bill's. It's very costly I really don't know if it's worth it but then I look at the things and they are things my kids and grand kids gave me and some things that belonged to my mum so I really do want to take them.

So if anyone has any ideas of who to use etc I would appreciate it.

Alll the best guys will chat with you all again soon. Kathy

Hi Guys ....Sent off packet 3 today so hopefully in the next few weeks I will have my interview.

My lawyer sent a letter stating that I had to pay a non-refundable application fee of US $150.00 at the time of the interview and that this fee can only be paid at an Australian Post Office outlet. It then reads please advise the counter assistant that you would like to pay the US non immigration visa application fee. You will also need to pay the immigrant visa fee of $355 plus the IV fee $45(security surcharge)..

So when I went to the post office to send my papers off I asked, They looked it up and said that I had to pay $420 which I paid and have the receipt....I am assuming that this is the $355 for the immigrant visa and the $45 security charge plus exchange rate or handling fee...I just don't know when do I pay the $150 non refundable application fee as the post office wasn't sure about this.

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me

Kathy

Hey Kathy had my x-rays done at Morphett Vale, had to go back the next day to pick them up, it had a security seal on it

but i told them i had to open it to check everything was signed properly and was all in there, after a bit of discussion they allowed

me to open it and then resealed it for me. Where your x-rays sealed?? (i assume the report was the folded piece of paper in there)

As for the visa fee and application fee, i am unaware of any fees that have to be paid before i go for the interview.

I assume that any moneys needing to be paid are to be paid at the consul. Damn will have to check that out.

Thanks for the heads up.Only a week to got to medical, hope Chris gets the Affidavits to me soon. Want to be able to send it

as soon as i have had the medical.

So how is everyone else going??

Just checked the fee site and this is what it says:

K visa applicants pay an application fee (also known as the Machine Readable Visa Fee) like any other nonimmigrant visa applicant.

The current application fee for the K visa is USD $350.00. (The AUD equivalent is $420.00).

This fee can only be paid at an Australia Post outlet. Bring the original receipt for this payment to your interview.

Only the original receipt may be submitted to the Consulate.

U.S. Department of State policy requires that all Embassies and Consulates worldwide retain the original Machine-Readable Visa (MRV)

application fee receipt as part of the visa application record. If you require a record of your transaction, please make a copy of your

application fee receipt prior to your visa interview.

I am so glad you pointed this out Kathy as it says nowhere on any of the application instructions about the payment.

All i can assume is that they may mention it when sending you interview date.

Could you please let us know when you get your packet 4 if it is stated in there.

Hey Gypsy....My X Rays were sealed the folded paper would be the report. Did you get them to sign the paper that you have to take back to the doctor. It's the one that Joan would have given you that needs the Radiologist and the person who takes your blood signature.

I sent my papers back to the Consulate by platinum express they had them by 10.30am this morning.

It's a 3kg platinum express satchel you have to take to the consulate for your interview too.

You have two fees to pay Gypsy the U.S. non-immigration visa application fee which is US$150, also the Immigrant visa fee of $420. I paid the $420 yesterday at the post office and have the receipt to take to the interview but the $150US fee for tor the application fee seems to be a mystery because it says you can pay at the post office but the post office doesn't seem to know about it.

Once I find more out I will let you know

Hope all goes will with your medical next week ... Like I said it takes all of 15 mins.

I have spoken to a few people that have just had their interview in Sydney and all have said the only fee they have to pay was the $420 at the post office. Hope this helps and congratulations on your interview . I'm still waiting hopefully I will get a date this week.

I have my interview date on August 3rd. In my packet 3 it states I have to pay $US141 to Aust Post, but theres is no mention of any other fees??? Can anyone explain this to me as I dont want to have any surprises when I go to my interview...Thanks :help:

I had the exact same thing, so I emailed them back and queried it. They replied that fees had recently changed, and the correct fee is USD$350 or AUD $420, and to pay it at Australia post. They also said that if I had paid the US$141, then I could pay the difference (AUD$262.80) in cash (only) at the consulate on the day of my interview.

My plan is take a bit of extra cash with me just in case.
