I have posted in 2 treads on here and tried to call the US EMBASSY in MANILA for my Fiances Interview.

I have had no luck;

I am in Manila and cannot call the US NUMBER.....

Tried to use advice here...went to PLDT Center on Makati Avenue...asked about the card to purchase to call US EMBASSY...everyone working in there said the US EMBASSY has no card to purchase and can't call from PLDT???? What the ****?

So went to a landline today...it says must have an LOAS CARD to call and go to PLDT SERVICE CENTER.....

I am going in circles now for a week....please someone who knows tell me where to go...what to buy...and what to do?

Is it just a pldt phone card...some special card? What is it and where do I get it and how does it work...what an f***** up system!

Pldt in makati knows nothing....

Should I go to the embassy????

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the USCIS call won't take any card. But I'm pretty sure you can call through land line telephone, where in this case the USCIS can bill you. Try to use any land line phones this works for us before like house land line phone.

The Embassy charges US$0.98 per minute for the call from the Philippines, so it has to be from a number that can be billed.

If in the Philippines, you call the Visa Information Services at 1-909-101-7878. I called from the States, so I used the 1-888 number and had to get a PIN number (cost $18 on my credit card) for a certain number of calls.

Your fiance(e) could call from the States and make the appointment for you.

Good luck.

Bruce

Have your fiance in the USA call for you, it is much easier. You get 2 or 3 calls (I forget exact #) for 18 $. My connection was excellent and I had my fiancee' a appointment in 10 minutes.

I remember my mom bought a calling card that specifically said at the back that it can be used to call the U.S. embassy when she applied for a tourist visa - I can't remember if it was a PLDT card though.

In my case, my fiance (now husband) was the one who called (from the U.S.) to schedule my K-1 interview.

HELP

I'm stumped. All my calls were from the U.S.

Do you, by any chance, have a magicJack or know someone who does. You could use it to call the U.S. number. You would need to use a credit card to buy the PIN.

Hi I saw your post for scheduling your interview for k1. If you are currently in manila you have to call this number 1-909-101-7878. Use PLDT phone with NDD (national Direct Dial or with long distance). IF those 2 PLDT phones didn't work, it means their NDD was not activated. Dial the said number directly. You could not get thru because you are dialing the 1888** number which you have to be in US mainland to connect. Hope this help.

Hopefully you've resolved this by now, if not I'd probably just go to the embassy to schedule the interview. I wnt there with my fiancee in December to ask a question, they didn't seem to mind us being there but I was glad I brought my passport to show I'm a US citizen. I don't think that would be a problem if you went there to schedule the interview. I hope all goes well at the interview!
