My I-130 is just approved. I checked from the reciprocity that after I request for the PCC, my PCC result will be 'sent directly to the Consulate General and/or immigration office specified on the application' in 4 weeks. Is it too early to request for the PCC now? The embassy still has no idea about my case. Please help.

If you did not file via DCF -

suggest you think about how to get it into NVC.

wait until you have, at least, an NVC casenumber -

Somewhere in the 'sealed packet' - you'll need to identify the PCC on you with the casenumber.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

no, I'm not filing for DCF but CR-1. really puzzled about how to write the case number on the packet that I won't even have a chance to see/touch it. :crying:

well, you have to BUY it, right?

Include yer own letter to the police office - with yer casenumber.

Give it to the police office- tell them to put the cover letter INTO the packet prior to mailing.

really? cause it's a required document for NVC processing.

You will need your NVC case number when you request PCC in Hong Kong. In HK, the report is sent directly to the HK consulate, not the NVC. Also, important to note that if you have lived anywhere else in China for 6 months or more while you were over the age of 16, you will need to get the PCC from there as well. One PCC will cover all mainland China except HK and Macau.

Hi bawaa,

We received the NOA1 few days ago and are waiting for approval. Can you share your experience what i should do now in HK while waiting? Just read from HK Police website that they won't process the cert. of no criminal conviction until they receive the letter from NVC, is it true? Thanks!
