Travel to Tel Aviv and tell me how many scans you have subject yourself to to get on that El Al flight. Now, if there's a prime target for terrorists out there, it's Tel Aviv airport and El Al airlines. And yet, just to save you the trip, you will not be scanned, your bottle of water isn't dumped into the garbage, nor do you have to put your gels and liquids into a 1 quart zip-lock bag in individual doses not to exceed 3fl oz each. None of that. And you know how many incidents they had at the airport or on any El Al flight the past few decades? You guessed it: Zippo. El Al has been named the most secure airline in the world in 2008.

All we're doing at US airports and Western European airports these days is opium for the masses. Feel good ####### entirely ineffective for airport and airline security. It's all just for show. To make people, like yourself, feel safe.

It wouldn't just be the odd passenger here and there that refuses to go through the security procedures El Al does use, though. And the number of court cases that would happen if that level of security was put in place in this country would make your head spin. Breaches of civil liberties, profiling, discrimination, etc.

But you know what? I wouldn't object. Because, as Big Dog so eloquently states, it works.

Behavioral profiling is what works. It's certainly less intrusive than what we have going on now and I really don't see how behavioral profiling would be breaching any liberties or constitute discrimination. If you are suggesting that we currently have no racial / ethnic profiling at our airports going on, I'd like you to meet my Pakistani friend. He's got a story or two to share about his airport advntures. Somehow, even without any ethnic profiling going on, he always happens to be in the "random" selection for additional screening. Just a co-incidence, of course, since we don't profile here.

Yup, racial profiling is real. But it's tempered with other things. I get "randomly" picked out very frequently when I travel alone. Not just in the US but in India, too. However, when I travel with my wife or mom they don't even look at me.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I would have done the same thing.

Full Body scans are one of the most ridiculous things airports have come up with yet.

Dude are you for real? You sound like Hyena 2.0..

No, he's a born and raised US citizen of Pakistani descent.

How would they know? Americans are not exactly worldly when it comes to identifying folks of different ethnicity. My guess is that the majority of folks here probably could not even point out Pakistan on map without labels.

Rest assure, I'm constantly sent to secondary screening myself.

As someone of South Asian (indian) etnicity, I see no problem in body scans. It makes me more comfortable knowing that everyone is scanned and safer for the journey. Further, everyone is treated as the same so no one can complain about any profiling during body scanning.

9/1/2009: Applied for I-130

9/14/2009: NOA1 for I-130

9/21/2009: NOA1 for I-129F (CSC)

9/25/2009: NOA1 received for I-129F (receipt of mail)

01/08/2010 : Thank you very much Jesus..... NOA 2 129F

01/08/2010 : NOA 2 I-130

01/15/2010 : Embassy gets the approval notice (Awesome..Love K3...so glad we have done K3)

01/20/2010: Embassy schedules interview for K3

02/19/2010: K3 interview over and approved.

[Thank You very much Jesus and our heavenly father.]

I see, so the first time someone packs a device into his crack, you will feel more comfortable having to spread them cheeks prior to flying since everyone has to do it and makes you safer - or at least so you are made to believe? By all means, bend over but don't expect that everyone will be as appreciative.

Joe has Down Syndrome. He pops in here and there. I think his wife just arrived, so I imagine he's quite busy.
