Can you be anti-gay marriage

OK - without getting into a protracted discussion then, is your objection about granting the fundamental legal rights pertaining to marriage to a gay couple, or simply that such a institution could be called marriage?

How many times must it be said, legalized Homosexual marriage, opens the legal door to other things one of which is "indoctrinating children" with public funds in the public school system.

Ok, I'm not really against civil unions for the purpose of rights like being able to visit someone in the hospital, have a say in their health situations, etc.

I get the religious objections to terming a gay civil union a "marriage", but if it essentially is a marriage in all but name - then objecting to it on that basis is little more than semantics. When it comes to voting on proposals for gay marriage, semantics just doesn't seem like enough of a reason to vote against it.

I teach, but mostly, I do legal research on social issues for a bunch of think tank lawyers. For more than a couple of decades, I worked as a human rights advocate. Ironic, no?

her doubts are dismissed as "We dont give a sh_t about what parents think".
