Hi Everyone,

Just out of curiousity, I was wondering...

USCIS aside, imagine if YOU could plan the perfect naturalization oath ceremony...

How would it be like?

Who would you invite?

What would be said, speeches, special guests, visuals shown, music played, etc.?

When would it be held?

Where would it be held?

Etc......

Use your imagination...Anything goes! :thumbs:

There is no wrong or right answer here. And there is no need for judgement and/or negative comments. All answers are welcomed!

Rather, it is just a simple exercise, for the fun of it, here on VJ!.....:)

Everyone's ceremony and interpretation of such an event is different....So what is yours?

Why doesn't the USCIS offer this option, to those who don't want an oath ceremony? Hmmm...... :whistle:

Seriously...It sure would save a lot of time, travel, expenses, etc. that way....

Lol..If they can send a green card in the mail, then why not a naturalization certificate? Just a thought...

Hello,

As I am still waiting for my oath letter I have had plenty of time to think about my perfect oath ceremony. All came down to one single scenario:

Go there and get over it quickly. Just me- No fuss, no guests, nothing ;). Perfect! (Almost like my wedding-well of course my husband attended as well...)

Actually, Boiler's suggestion is even better- but it would not even have to be in an email. A quick online chat would do for me as well.

N-400 (based on 5 years of Permanent Residence)

11/2/09 mailed application to Lewisville TX Lockbox,11/3/09 received by USCIS, 11/9/09 received NOA, 12/2/09 Biometrics, 1/13/10 Interview done- now waiting for oath letter, 3/8/10 received oath letter, 3/29/10 OATH CEREMONY!!!!

Great question!

Mine would be to sign a form and mail it back via Certified Mail.

My second choice would be to go to a Judge in the local Courthouse in town and do it there, quick and easy.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . .
