Hello Everyone,

So we went to our interview this morning. Scheduled for 8:20, got there at 8:15. Put our appt letter at the front counter and WAITED.

Waited and waited and waited. A little over 2 hours later, twix candybar for a snack, and trying to calm my husband down bc he didn't understand why we had to wait ...and they finally call his name! We both jump up and grab all of our stuff and head in. Say hi to the lovely lady and both of us acting like we are about to get on a fun ride at disneyland! lol. So the minute we walk into her office, I try to put the stuff down on the extra chair and she says ...first thing we need to do is the oath. So we are both still standing and we raise our right hand and do the typical oath part. We sit down ...and she says I need your I94 card ..and as husband and I are each trying to grab the folder with that she says "i need the card because i'm probably approving you today..." of course my heart skips a beat and I think did I hear that right??

So she starts to go over his application and confirms all the information and all the general questions of prostitution, communist, terrorist, weapons etc ...and in the middle of it she hears husband speaking to me in French. And she asks how is it that he knows french. I explained that certain groups of people where we come from generally all speak french ..so anyway..she said Oh I thought maybe he went to school in france ...and then I said ..Oh I did and I have visited paris ..and she starts talking about her trip to paris with her husband and she mentions a place called Angelina's ..and I interrupt her and say "yes the best hot chocolate ever" and she agreed and I said ...yes been there and loved it...and blah blah blah ..so we found a little bit of a connection.

Then she said, ok back to work ...at which point she asked to see wedding pics ..and she asked about the wedding and then asked for some information about when we met and how we communicated and whether we kept in touch in the past 11 years. When we got engaged. In the meantime, I had noticed that next to the folder she was looking from, our K1 folder was there because she mentioned something that she would have only known if she had glanced at the info I submitted for k1. I asked if that was our folder for the k1 from the embassy and she said yes. As she flipped through it I noticed pics I had submitted with my husband and me and his family and some of my family ..so I talked to her about those pics and pointed out who each person was and told her that those pictures were from 11 years ago!

Then she went back to the current file and asked where we live and we confirmed the address. She didn't ask anything else about us and our current status. Nothing about me (USC) and nothing about him except whether he is working yet.

I had brought all kinds of things with me (which I kept repeating to her if she wanted anything ....practically begging her to take something bc I had brought so much with me) Taxes, paystubs, receipts, cards, pictures post wedding, living situation explanation) all she kept repeating is that "i'm not interested in that ...I don't need any of it, your file is complete, you submitted everything we needed since your k1 stage and your AOS" ... I said, well can you at least look at some pictures??? since I spent forever printing them ....she said no it is not necessary ... lol

So we spent maybe 3-4 minutes talking about how we met, she asked him how is being supported (I said me) and she asked for any financial info that we may have together. I gave her car insurance, bank statements (she said I only need one of the statements) and a phone bill. She said that's perfect and that will do.

We made some jokes about the process ..and then she said I'll be right back I'm going to get the approval letter. She came back, said something briefly about conditional greencards and said we would receive his greencard in about 2 weeks bc they are processed pretty fast from that point! Will she how correct she was about that ...

I told her, "well thank you!!! hopefully we will see you in 2 years! And she said, "Maybe if I haven't retired yet!"

We shook hands and smiled and she walked us out!!

I was worried about my 2009 taxes since I haven't filed them yet (I have an extension) but she never asked about them or asked whether I had an extension.

Overall, super! YAY! He's approved!!!

Thanks everyone :)

Had interview today... Didnt get any letter but she just said wait for the letter

So our appt time was to be at 11:05 am but dealing with my rush, rush hubby, we got to Philly at 9:45 and had to kill some time til at least 10:15. We entered and went through the security scan (joked a lil with one of the guards- she was a sweety) and made our way up to the waiting room on the 3rd floor. Of course there were no clocks so we didn’t have a clue how long we were waiting but the room was ¾ filled with AOS, ROC and Naturalization people. I walked to the front desk and handed the lady behind the glass window my interview letter and was told to have a seat and wait to be called.

At least 3-4 couples were, in my opinion, given the Stokes interview as the IO sent one spouse back to the waiting room while they interrogated the other spouse. Funny thing is, the ones who were given such treatments, had attorneys present while the others who didnt, including us, were never separated. We were the last to be called in before lunch (so to speak) at about 1. We were interviewed by an Asian lady, Ms. Cho. She was very polite yet got straight to the point since they were obviously runnin behind schedule.

She asked us if there were anything we wanted to add to the file and even though I had an enormous amount of stuff, I just let her look through our photo albums, joint bank accounts, lease, benefits enrollment form and pics (of which, only the photo albums were new evidence cuz she didn’t ask for any of our insurance cards since we already submitted info regarding the enrollment). She then went straight into questioning us.

Hubby’s questions

She spent a good 5 mins doing so and started to inquire about who went to the wedding (12). (Hubby named every single person but ticked me off by telling her how his mom didn’t approve even though she didn’t ask him all that lol)

When did we get married?

Where was it held?

What we did afterwards?

When did we start going out?

Where did we go on dates?

How long was it before we decided to get married?

Asked hubby visa am I on?

Where I lived in Detroit? (too many places so she by-passed it

What school I attend, and what school I got my degree from?

What is my major here and in my degree?

When was I last enrolled?

My questions

When and how did we meet?- Then if we still went to that church.

What did/do we have in common?

How often did we see each other during school?

What activities did we do when I visited?

Where hubby works?

How many times I visited the US? Too many to count

When did I enter on my student visa?

Has he ever taken time off to come to Detroit?

When did he visit and what did we do?

Oddly, will I go back to school in august?

What was our first movie? (too long ago) so she asked what was our last movie together? Made small talk as to her wanting to know about it.

Then asked about the I-130 questions

Both

And if we’re married?

What do we know about each other’s parents? Age, Job, Name, Address

Then, asked us to verify our own and each others’ Age, Job, Name, Address.

What do I want to do as a career?

After that, she asked, again, if I wanted in include anything. I gave her the most recent 3 pay stubs and employment letters from both jobs and to make a copy of my I-20. She then said thanks for coming in and that we’ll get the letter in about 30 days as they have cut down on giving out stamps (even though she said sorry and we‘ll have to wait to take hubby to JA). She asked us to stay in the wait room until she made copies and when she came out, I told her about my EAD touches and said if I get it I coud use it but I might get my GC before that.

Excellent report - you confirmed my feeling that when people use an attorney (warranted or unwarranted) that will

raise a flag about the validity of the relationship.

Now you can relax for 2 more years...

I honestly believed this. Hubby & I talked a lot about it. Our Interview took about 20-30 mins but we were only the 4th couple that day which means that the other couples were being questioned for well over 40+ mins together and they were all separated, except this "other" interracial couple (he's black & she's russian; also had a lawyer) who were in there for the duration of two interviews (like over an hour)... Too much math lol

Im glad M and F got an "official approval", gosh if I didnt ask her about the EAD then she'd a never said im getting the GC... lol
