Just received my Green card today :dance: ... Took almost a month after receiving my approval at the interview, but I'm not complaining ;) .... I'm so relieved... Hope everyone gets their GC quickly too :thumbs:

AOS timeline:

1st March 2010 - AOS packet received at Chicago (I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765)
9th March 2010 - Checks cashed
12th March 2010 - All 4 NOA's received
19th March 2010 - Applications touched biggrin.png
19th March 2010 - Received Biometrics letter for 2nd April
2nd April 2010 - Biometrics done
19th April 2010 - Received interview letter for May 21st biggrin.png
6th May 2010 - All applications touched. Status of I-765 changed to document production, status of I-131 changed to post decision activity.
10th May 2010 - Received approved AP in mail
21st May 2010 - AOS Interview, IO said he will approve the case... waiting for Green card smile.png
27th May 2010 - Received EAD card
17th June 2010 - Approval notice for I-130 received. Also received "Welcome to USA" letter biggrin.png

The day of the interview (17th), I got the 1st email "card production ordered". Then a touch on the 18th, and yesterday I received the Welcome letter. I just got another email saying card production ordered. I guess I need one more email then the GC will come!

Now I have a day trip planned for Tuesday... social security office, DMV, then USCIS to return my EAD card. I'm excited!

I'm keeping a blog detailing this journey!

Now I have a day trip planned for Tuesday... social security office, DMV, then USCIS to return my EAD card. I'm excited!

Plan carefully. When Dave went to the SS office to get a new card they took the one he brought with him and just gave him a letter saying it should be delivered in 2 weeks. He arrived in a week, but he had hoped to go to the DMV and get some banking things done the next day.

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012

BABY GIRL BORN JULY 2011!!!

Thanks for the warning - hopefully since I'm only removing the temporary visitor status and changing my name (not even renewing my driver's license), they won't ask for a new social security card.

The letter should be okay to use. It's actually a receipt showing that he/she applied for a new card.

Congrats on the card approvals. We are still waiting on our GC. We received everything else. Our last touch was the same day the "new" GC info came out.. where oh where could our little card be? I just feel like they had no problem taking the money for the fee.. so I want what we paid for darn it! Lol.. he did get his EAD/AP and has a job now too! (Thank God - first one he applied for too) I just would like our GC now so we can be done for awhile....

Finally! Interview day is finally here ...Going in for our interview tomorrow morning @ 8:20!! :) Hope it goes well.

Thanks again to everyone who shared their interview experience ...I feel much more calm about it bc I have an idea of what to expect ...
