My husband got called back after a phone interview. They want him to go in tomorrow and take an Excel test. He worked with Office 2003 at his last job, but this will be on 2007.

If all goes well at the test he will have a face-to-face interview with the local HR or managers. YAY!! I can't wait for him to have a job.

On the other hand.. it is nice coming home to clean laundry and the dishwasher running. ;)

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

I was worried because I brought pictures of our civil marriage ceremony, and the officer seemed to want more, like pics of our reception. We didn't have one! Our REAL wedding and reception will be later this summer. I didn't make a big deal of the civil ceremony AT ALL because I do not consider that my real wedding. I didn't tell my friends or anyone, just invited my parents to be the witnesses. I was worried that because I did not make a scrapbook out of glitter and hearts that somehow that proved we do not really "love" each other... honestly though HELLO? We've been working hard trying to build a life together financially and plan our "real" wedding, neither of us has time for scrapbooking.

The officer took the I-94, our marriage certificate, my husband's birth certificate, some pictures of our civil ceremony, and our bank account papers. She didn't take the EAD or the AP so at least we still have those. She didn't recommend us for approval, nor did she say BOO YOU FAIL so now I guess we just wait!

I think they must see civil ceremonies fairly frequently - we also didn't have a reception and when the officer asked us why, we explained honestly that we'll wait for when my family can obtain visas and come over here to celebrate with my husband's and my family. I suspect it's a common issue for marriages where one spouse has all their family abroad :-) Plus, in this economy, a big wedding can be quite a stretch for some families...

Seems to me it's a good thing they took your I-94 - this kind of assumes that next time you leave the country, you won't need it because you'll have your green card in hand :-) They didn't take my I-94, but I'm trying not to read too much into it...

Gosh, this is so nerve-racking!!

Good luck to all; may we all find the magical e-mails in our inboxes, and the magical notices in our mailboxes by the time weekend starts!

My close friend & accountant is from Italy (went to the Vatican City high school),

so I was surprised to see the US get so far. In any case I didn't have time

to watch, being a "newlywed" and all that...

Her son in Thailand has been incommunicado for most of the last few weeks,

WC related. She's going to Thailand for 3 weeks to set him straight, LOL :bonk:

Yes, and also for his graduation from the best University in Thailand, Chulalongkorn.
