i am sorry about this blackbird and i really cannot help myself worrying too since i will be having an interview the same place as yours,,, my AOS had never been updated for about more than a month now,, the last update of my AOS was last May 5 after my biometrics,,, i would like to ask if your AOS had been updated before your interview date?

Went to USCIS in Irving Texas today. Had a 1pm Infopass appointment. For those who dont remember, i went for my AOS interview last week on Thursday and when my buzzer went off, i was told that i'd be having no interview because they dont have my file yet. I was really mad and wondered how i could be sent for an interview notice and they dont have my file. Anyway, the lady who was confirming my appointment today asked the reason for my appointment and i told her. She then told me that my situation was common and happens all the time. She gave me a number and told me to wait my turn.

15 minutes later i was called by some guy to a window aho asked for my infopass appointment. I gave him and explained my situation. He then looked to see where my file is and told me that the file was, as of yesterday, at the National benefits Center. He said that they are looking into closing it and sending it to Texas where they will then contact me and schedule for an interview. Well, i guess iam out of luck. I have everything but me interview date. I was looking forward to getting this over and its what it is. Cant scream at anyone so i guess i will just wait patiently. The guy told me that it could be another 30 days so we could potentially have the file in Irving TX on July 6th or earlier but could be upto 60 days (Aug 6th).

I wonder why this had to happen to me but i wont complain coz i have EAD and i work (a really good job) that supports my wife (USC) and i. Back to wait mode but i really think NBC should co-ordinate with local office before scheduling interviews...lol

My last AOS touch was on 05/07/2010....... and is still under initial Review ...lol. Funny. But i am reading through and it shows that NBC mailing address is Chicago lockbox and they did a really good job in speeding up my paperwork till now.....i guess its just a process glitch. All i can say is that at least you know it could happen but be positive and just wish for the best. Thanks for your concern. Hope yours goes well.

Green card received in the mail!!!

i applied SSN couple of days ago using my EAD ( i post about this couple of days ago ) unfortunately the SS in charge said my EAD card number is not yet been activated or not yet found in the department of homeland security they said i will wait for about 4 weeks,,, i am looking somewhere on what should i do so my EAD card number will be activated in DHS.

Hi confuse!!! I recenttly got my EAD card too and yesterday we went to get my SSN and the lady told me exactly the same. But the lady was so nice she said it happened a lot because we just got our EAD so it wasn't registered to the Homeland Secutiry yet. She got my information and she said she'll try again in couple of days and if its not activated still she will send a mail to USCIS about the card that they need it to be activated so they can process my SSN..and it takes about 4 weeks to get it done, that's fine with me since I don't need it yet anyway. DOn't worry ur not the only one in this kind of situation.. :)

I remember I got his social when he first got to the states with his K1 visa. I followed the instructions on VJ to wait a couple of weeks bc it takes a while for SS dept to reflect his file ...so we went and they found him in the system and issued him his SS number with work restriction. So, she told us we would be able to update the SS number and the card when he got his greencard or EAD.

Not sure if this helps any of you at this point ...but just thought I would share :) I was able to get his SS but waited too long to get his Driver's license - he took all the tests (written and driving) then when we went to get his license at the window the supervisor said it was too close to his I-94 expiring ... we should have gone at the most 30 days before the I-94 expired! :bonk: Oh well...At least they are holding on to his license for a year and hopefully we will have EAD soon enough so I can get his license!

Chicago 9:00 am interview.

Our turn came at 9:00 on time, we went inside with young(ish) gentelman who clearly is a Chicago White Sox fan.

We went thru regular stuff, documents id etc. He was very nice and profesional.

He ask me about my overstay in nice and polite way. Didnt give us hard time for anything. Went thru regular

list of questions, check all photos, made some comments about how people prepare in many different ways.

He asked my wife regular questions about dates and details of our relationship ets.

At the end ( 25min ) he told us that he will reccomend approval and we will get the green card in 90 days :dance::dance:

Like I said before, if you are married and know each other well, prepare your stuff make copies etc,

you should all feel good about interview. I hope everyone of you will have same experience as we did.

So thats my week of AOS experience, on Saturday i got my EAD, on Monday I got a nice job that was waiting for me,

last night my beloved hockey team wins stanley cup and today............ today our journey ended.

I wish you all best of luck and hope that all of you will end their waiting in good way.

And the World Cup starts tomorrow! ;)

Just out of curiosity, was your AOS touched at any point after receiving the interview letter? I can't help but being worried about my case not being there and not getting touvhes since after bio!
