I had my AOS interview today-8am at the Oklahoma City Field Office.

We entered the USCIS building at 7.45am, went through security. We waited for about 30 minutes before we were called in. Our interviewer who was an elderly man asked us to follow him into his office.

To my surprise he asked for my I-94 and passport, both our IDs, took the I-94 out and add it to his file before we were sworn in with our right hands raised.

He then asked me our address, phone number, place of birth and ticked off on the forms as I answered. He then turned to the I-485 and asked me if the usual 485 questions to which I answered no to all.

He asked me how I came into the states and I told him F1 and he asked if I am still in school to which I replied yes. He then asked what I was studying, name of my school and copy of my I-20.

He turned to my wife and asked to describe our first meeting, whether she loves me, about the wedding, name of our church and the head pastor name.

He then asked me to describe how i proposed to her which i did. He then asked to see our wedding pictures and other documents in support of our marriage. We gave him Renewal lease, electric and cable bills, bank accounts, health, car and life insurance, and letter from my employer. He then asked me to give him about 5 pictures from my wedding pictures to add to our file.

He then said "that's it we are done. Thank you and let me walk you guys to the exit door." What? Nothing like you are approve or to be expecting something in the mail in 30 days. He did not give us any paper after the interview. We left the building not knowing whether to be happy or not.

No updates or touches on my I-485. Haven't received any text or email yet. Is this normal? Do any of you guys think we will be schedule for another interview? The IO did not give me back my I-94- That's the only thing i am happy about.

Hey....Congrats.:dance::dance::dance::dance:Nice review and like the details. I am sure (100% gut feeling) that you will be approved. No need to worry. Just hung in there and wait for Worldcup. :ot: ....Ghana is my team....lol. Good luck in your AOS journey. You will definitely hear something soon.

So we went to our interview today and I hated it! We arrived and the officer asked us the regular questions: asked us to confirm our address, where and when we met (back in france 6 years ago), if our parents knew each other, if we knew each other's family, etc... But after that, she asked us to show some more proof of the validity of our marriage. Since we had put a huge amount of annotated photos that were taken all around the world on our many travels together, three affidavits including one from one of our wedding witnesses, our lease papers and our marriage certificate already in our file, we didn't bring many more proofs. So We showed her a few extra pictures that I had brought and made copies our our insurance cards that show that we are both on the same plan.

She asked us if some people in our family had sent us congratulations cards for our marriage and they did maybe 2 or 3 of them, but I hated myself at that moment cause I really didn't think of bringing them! So I apologize for not bringing them and she said that if we had been interviewed by someone else we would have been in more trouble etc. That comment scared me a great deal!

Also, Marc and I never actually proposed to each other. Marriage was something we had talked about for a while and we decided together to get married in September, even before we thought of staying in the US... So when she asked Marc how he had proposed to me... He was surprised by the question and said that it was a common decision. Also, since we got married only with 5 or 6 friends, it might have given her the idea that the wedding wasn't "real"... I don't know. I'm just speculating and worrying. (I excel at that!!)

So anyway, bottom line is we have been together for 6 years (anniversary on June 6th) and have lived together for 5 years. We ARE in love and want to be granted the right to live together. There's no fraud, no lie about the reality of our relationship and I think that it's obvious given the pictures etc.

So, hoping to be reassured, when the officer asked us if we had any further questions, I asked her "So... for what possible reason do you think the AOS could be refused?" and she answered with an obvious kind of tone "Well! You don't have many proofs of your marriage, you're young, I don't know... But if everything goes fine you should receive your card in the mail within a month from now."

I hated that answer! I thought: No proof of our marriage? We've been together for years, have loads of pictures, people's affidavit, pictures of the wedding, the honeymoon, and the marriage certificate! What more? We're young??? So what!? We got married last September and were both 23 years-old. I don't think it's really that young!!

We left with a paper giving the name of the officer with the boxes "Your case has been continued for the reason(s) checked below:" and "Further Review" that were both ticked. Since I noticed there is another box saying "Congratulations, your adjustment of status has been approved" that she DIDN'T tick, I'm extremely nervous and I feel like I'm going to pass out any time!!!

Do you guys think they might refuse us the AOS or that we might have another interview? Or di you think that the evidence we brought seems sufficient?

I think the IO was looking for proof of co-mingling of finances, viz Joint bank statements, Joint club memberships (Sam's, Gym memberships), Joint utility bills, Joint credit cards, Car insurance etc. Even though we all know that our relationships are genuine, the IO needs to be convinced about that and the only way that happens is through these evidences. In my opinion, if you have all these bills you should get it ready if you have a second interview.

Me too! So exciting after 2 months of nothing!

I think they only send emails if the status changes and the big blue dot moves.

I really can't wait for my interview now! Also, :ot: my b-day is on Sunday and my hubby apparently got me more than one gifts...I am so curious but he won't tell me! I'm sure the poor guy is tired of me being home all day and updating him when he gets home on the latest gossips/reality shows I watch all day  so he probably wants me to get my mind off this whole process for at least a weekend!

:ot2: Congrats to all of us who got good news these days and good luck to everybody who is waiting on a decision after interview!

Come on, we are almost there

OK. Just came back from my Interview in Irving Texas. So, i guess i am out to set a record. We got there and patiently waited with our restaurant style buzzer. A lot of couples and interviewers/IO's coming to get people. We left our cellphones in the car. Anyway, i guess it was at 12:30pm (right on time for interview schedule) our buzzer goes off. This lill old lady comes to get us and tells us that they don't have our file so "NO INTERVIEW TODAY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE" .....What!! Are you kidding me! Pinch me or something coz i must be dreaming. Lol. ANyway, she was extremely apologetic and said that our file hasnt arrived in :bonk:Irving. I have everything including my EAD and no interview? Pinch me again........ She took our interview notice letter and wrote on it that i was there but file wasn't. Now i just hope they haven't lost it coz i am going crazy. She doesn't even know when they will call me. I PRAY that they haven't lost my file ......wow.:help:I am loosing my mind. Anyway, i will try stay calm just coz i believe everything happens for a reason. Just like if you hit a red light and you curse out not knowing that if you hit green light you'd be in a bad wreck......something positive will come out of this. GOD BLESS AMERICA. I will try stay calm even though i took whole day off from work.

Im sorry bout ur interview..That is so frustrating. After long month of waiting and worrying and get ready for interview they will tell u they don't have ur file, what the??!!! Ugh!!

Anyway, I went to the same office in Irving for Infopass last month because I wanna know what's my other option if my husband leaves the country for work and im gonna have my interview w/o him...The lady seems nice, she listens to us and tell us that they can't do anything until they have my papers and she can't check it online because thier 'COMPUTER IS DOWN"

huh!! kinda pissed me off but what can I do..!!
